"So are you ready to go get coffee?", Sarah asks.

"Of course", I reply.

"So I actually don't know where to go and I don't have a car yet", she says while laughing nervously. God that's such a beautiful sound.

"It's okay. I've been here for a while so I'm familiar with the area and I have a car so I'll drive us", I reassure her.

As we walk up to my car, I can't decide if I should open the car door for her. I mean, that's what I usually do for others but what if I come off too strong? Or what if I don't do it and I end up looking like a jerk? C'mon get it together Logan.

"Here I'll get that for you", I say as I reach the passenger door before her.

"Oh...thank you" she says. Oh my god, is she blushing?! Did she she blush?! Stay cool, Logan. Stay cool.

I get in the car and immediately turn on the radio so it's not too quiet. The nearest coffee shop is only 10 minutes away but I have a feeling these are going to be the longest 10 minutes of our lives.

"So how long have you been here?", Sarah says, immediately breaking the silence.

"I've been living here for a while. I was racing under Red Bull in F2 for a couple of years and was promoted to their junior F1 team last year so I've been following them around for the past couple of years", I say.

"Oh wow. I bet being on the main team is a dream come true for you too", she says.

"Yea it's is. Oh, we're here now", I say. I park the car and she lets herself out before I could open the car door for her. I get to the coffee shop doors before her so open it to let her go in first. We go inside and order our drinks and find a place to sit outside in the patio while we wait.

"So what about you. Where have you been racing because I haven't seen you in F2", I say faking my curiosity since I've seen all her instagram posts .

"I've been racing in the F1 Academy. I was actually part of McLaren", she says while laughing to herself. That sound is even more beautiful.

"McLaren?! How did you land the Red Bull spot then?", I ask, genuinely curious.

"Uhm it's kind of a long story. So ever since McLaren signed me, I've always pushed myself to be the best and wanted to be the best racer I could and this year was when my contract ended so I pushed myself even more so they could re-sign me. But things got in the way and I wasn't at my best so they didn't re-sign me but then I got a call during summer break from Christian saying that he wanted to give me a Red Bull spot. And now I'm here", she says with a little sadness in her eyes.

"I want to ask if you feel comfortable talking about what happened but I feel like if you were comfortable you would say it, so I'm not going to push it", I say while giving her a smile.

"Thanks Logan. You're really sweet and we'll be spending a lot of time together so maybe once I warm up, I'll give you the full story", she says.

Before I could reply, our drinks come and we spend the rest of our time talking about growing up around racing, our best stories, and worst races. I've actually gotten to know a lot about her as a racer and I hope I can get to know her as a person soon.

"Oh it's getting late. I think we should go back to HQ. I kind of left my stuff in Mr. Taylor's car", she says.

"Oh yea of course, let's go", I say.

The drive back to HQ was quiet but the good kind. There was a comfortable silence between us and I didn't mind it at all. Once we got to HQ, Sarah got in her chauffeur's car and drove to her new house.

"So how was your date?", Christian says.

"It wasn't a date, sir. We're just trying to become friends before the season starts", I say.

"Uh huh. And is that why your blushing and have a dumb smile on your face?", she says while laughing.

I couldn't even say anything back because he was right. If only it really was a date.
