It is finally February. My favorite time of the year. It's winter testing month and it's also my birthday month. Now that Maya is here with me, I'm actually looking forward to celebrating my birthday.

The day of my birthday also happens to be a day where testing is scheduled so me and Maya plan on partying all night since there's nothing scheduled for the next day. Although Maya is still only 16, Logan gave us some places where they don't check your age so we should be good.

Throughout the break, Logan and I have gotten really close. We've spent almost all of our free time after meetings together and both Maya and Carmen are jealous that he's one of my new best friends.

"So are you excited to finally get in that car?", Carmen asks me. Today is our first day of winter testing and it'll be my first time driving the Red Bull car.

"Of course I am. I've been waiting almost my whole life for this moment", I say.

"What are you most excited for? Being in the car or seeing Logan?", Carmen says while nudging me.

I can't help but stay quiet and blush. Throughout the break, I started to develop a little crush on Logan and I made the mistake of telling Carmen about it. Now every time she sees him, she makes remarks like "there's your man" or "go talk to your boyfriend". Every time she says that, I can't help but blush.

"Oh look there he is! Go get your mans", she says while pushing me. She's lucky I love her.

"Hey!", he says in his always cheerful tone.

"Hey. So the moment is finally here. We finally get to drive these cars", I say while admiring our new cars.

"Yea we do", he says. I look up towards him and I see that he's staring at me with such a soft look in his eyes. God, I can stare into his eyes forever.

"Hello kiddies", Mr.Horner says, breaking our gaze.

"Hello", Logan says to him.

"So Sarah, I hear your birthdays coming up soon", Mr. Horner says.

"Oh uhm yea it is", I say, a little caught off guard.

"Oh when is your birthday?", Logan asks.

"It's on the 25th", I say.

"Got anything cool planned?", Logan says with his signature smile.

"Nothing much, just a night on the town with my sister", I say.

"Don't get too crazy. I don't need the press saying I have an out of control driver", Mr. Horner says with a smile.

"Trust me, I won't be. I'll have Maya with me so I have to set a good example", I say trying to reassure my boss.

"Speaking of Maya, she is doing great in the internship. How long has she been doing this?", Mr. Horner asks.

"Shes been helping my dad fix my kart since I started racing and when she got bigger she started doing it by herself. The little brat would sometimes break something in my kart just so she could have something to do for a while", I say laughing to myself, looking back on my memories.

"Your dad must be so proud of you girls", Mr. Horner says.

"Yea, he is", I say while trying to cover up this wave of sadness. No one really knows that my dad passed away, unless they're from the same town as me. Even while I was in the academy, I never told anyone about my dad. It's not that I was embarrassed or ashamed. I just didn't want anyone to pity me or see me differently.

"All right children. Let's get you two in the cars and start this testing", Mr. Horner says, breaking my trance.

"Are you okay?", Logan asks, grabbing my arm as I walk away.
