He was used to taking certain hits.
His lack of spider sense left him a bit vulnerable to certain attacks. Gwen, You and Peter were busy helping the civilians while he stopped the most recent anomaly villain. The rhino that was blasted in this universe had no armor, his body was built maybe slightly bigger than
Peter's but his blows were devastating.
The first one Miguel realized he underestimated when he was slammed into the concrete. The others he had managed to block and deliver some of his own. Still, this man was just as agile and ten times as strong. He needed back up.
Another punch to his gut and he was staggering to his feet.
Rhino laughed, grabbing him by the throat as he pressed him to the pavement. Miguel gritted his teeth, ready to retaliate when another fist came into view and smacked right into the Rhino's jaw. His body hit the pavement with a harsh thud and Miguel was stunned at some of the concrete that lifted at the blow. His eyes shifted as you were standing over Rhino with a glare that could make the worst villain buckle.
"What the hell are you doing to My Miguel!!"
You then proceeded to deliver three more punches to his face that knocked the villain unconscious. You were huffing, still grasping his collar. Once you realized, you dropped Rhino almost immediately, blinking as your cheeks flushed. All eyes were now trained in your direction.
"Did you just say My Miguel?" Gwen asked.
You were stammering, and Peter moved to Gwen's side with the same look of disbelief. It seemed to dawn on him and he was grinning.
"No way the both of you are dating!"
Miguel groaned and you stumbled.
"I-It's not what you think we-"
You then proceeded to trip on the edge of the pavement, face planting. Miguel was at your side in seconds, despite the ache in his body he lifted you, looking for injury. Your face was bruised and he frowned.
"You're so clumsy, muñeca."
His tone was scolding, but his eyes held worry. You sent him an embarrassed smile, wiping the dirt from your cheek.
"S-Sorry."
He just shook his head, brushing your face, ridding it of whatever dust was left. He was happy that at least you hadn't triggered another nosebleed. The entire time Gwen and Peter were just staring.
"I'm so telling everyone when we get back." Gwen spoke.
Color returned to your cheeks and Miguel just hissed in their direction.
That was how everyone found out.
The villain was caught, but now you could see the little smirks some of your colleagues wore as you walked in step with Miguel. Once you were back in the comforts of his space, you lowered your head. He was in the back room, mask fading out as he moved around.
"I-I'm sorry Miguel."
The plan was to keep it strictly professional at work, but now everyone would definitely make a big deal about it. Miguel was known for being the stoic king. There would no doubt be teasing.
"It 's fine. Esos idiotas."
He grumbled the last part and you just let out another sigh. He finally stopped shuffling and you looked up when he was standing in front of you. He lifted his hand, and you closed an eye when he placed a small bandage right over the top of your nose. You blinked, and he seemed satisfied. You'd sort of forgotten about the small cut.
