A few things to note before you begin this story.
1) unlike my other The Outsiders fanfics, this story takes place in 1967 instead of 1964.
2) this story's casting is different from the 1983 movie version. I'm choosing to use the cast of the Broadway Musical of The Outsiders. I love the script and edits they made, along with their casting decisions.
3) In the novel, Ponyboy is an unreliable narrator, therefore, Sunny sees things differently than her little brother. Her experiences with Darry, Soda, and the gang will be different than what Ponyboy describes in the book.
4) I don't ask you to agree with my choice of love interest in this story, I ask that you give it a chance and see things from a different perspective than how Ponyboy described Bob Sheldon.
5) There will be a mix of dialogue from the novel, movie, and musical within the chapters of this story.
With that said, I invite you to follow Sunny Curtis along her journey in Tulsa 1967 and her take on the events of The Outsiders novel.
