OMORI After The Story

Sunny woke up. The light stung his eye, he felt a tear run down his face and soak into the thin strap of something covering the side of his face. He opened his eyes, half of his vision was red like light seeping through his eyelid. He pulled his hand upward and touched his face, feeling a medical eyepatch covering his right eye. He remembered Something, he worried he had hurt basil last night during his panic attack. He sat up and looked around the room, everything was stark white other than a few gifts around the room all addressed to Sunny from different people he met around Faraway Town in the past few days. He stood up and walked out of the room to find Basil, there was no time to waste. The truth had to be told. He looked down the hall at his friends standing there, smiling, calling him toward them as they ran down another hallway and out of sight. He looked down the hall to see two red doors and his friends were nowhere to be seen. He knew that they weren't real so he just stared blankly toward that end of the hall, and then he turned around. He saw a shadow of basil around the corner, but he saw its eyes. It was the Stranger, they made eye contact before Stranger nodded with acceptance and disappeared out of sight around the corner. Sunny walked down the same hallway and stopped in front of the first door. It loomed over him like Something, staring down at him, judging him. "Everything is going to be okay." He thought. And he remembered how to Calm Down. He faced the door with determination, and remembered how to Focus. He turned the knob and entered the room. His friends all looked up at him, did he have the strength to tell the truth? Then he saw Basil's bruised face, only at rest from sleeping. He had to. He couldn't bear to see Basil worry anymore. He remembered to Persevere. He opened his mouth and allowed the truth to escape him. "I have to tell you something."
