A group of trolls find themselves in separate rooms and went out to investigate where they are, only to find that they're inside a school called Hope's Peak Academy. Having no memory of how they got in, they meet up at the gymnasium where they were introduced by the principal of the academy, a black and white bear named Monokuma. He tells you that you're participating in a Killing Game, a game where you get to murder each other in different ways without getting caught. You will have to investigate on any murders that occurred and there will be class trials to figure out the killer. If you get it right, the killer will be executed, but if you get it wrong, everybody but the killer will be executed, letting the killer go.
