Pop music filled Noah's apartment as did the smell of alcohol. I wasn't into these sorts of things but Noah was one of the few people I could tolerate. And he really wanted me to attend since he was going to be leaving in a few days. If it were a party for anyone else I would've skipped it between my job of COO and my side project. I had enough on my plate and this was just a waste of time. But Noah was a close friend, one of the few people I could stand the company of for more than an hour at a time. So here I was pro tending like I wanted to be here.

A silvery laugh peeled through the air drawing my eyes to the source. Enid of course, Noah's little sister was so sweet and sunshiny all the time. I half expected flowers to grow from the ground she walked on and a couple of singing animals following along behind her. She stood in the corner with her friends, her face brightened with animation as she laughed at something one of them said. I wondered If it was a real laugh or a fake one. People are known to put on a fake smile and laugh at things that weren't funny putting on a show so others won't know the depressing truth behind the mask. Knowing Enid though her laugh was real. The world would eat her alive once she left the fair bubble, not my problem though.

" Yooo ! " Noah appeared beside me his hair a little messy and a bright smile that showed his canines

" Thanks for showing up ! And sorry i couldn't say hi till now. There were so many people talking to me and I didn't want to be rude."

" Oh yeah ? It seems like you have a little smudge on your face next to your lip "

He laughed and wiped his face

" A hundred bucks says you won't survive the whole year without all your so-called friends and parties. You'll be back before summer "

" Awe come on, give me a little faith they'll be women and I make friends so easily and I mean the party will be wherever I am.  "

Noah grabbed a cold beer from a nearby cooler and popped it open.

" I actually wanted to talk to you about that. Me being gone."

" don't get all sensitive on me. If you bought us friendship bracelets I'm out "

" Fuck you " Noah says laughing

" I wouldn't buy you jewelry if you paid me. No, this is about Enid."

My glass paused just an inch away from my lips before I continued and got the hit of the taste of whisky on my lips. I hate beer. Something about it tastes gross. I really don't understand how people can drink that.

" What about her? "

Noah and his sister were close even though they bicker so much I wanted to duck tape their mouths sometimes. That was the nature of siblings. Something I never quite got to experience. The whiskey turned sour in my mouth and I put the glass down at a nearby table.

" I'm worried about her. " Noah rubbed a hand over his jaw.

" I know she's a big girl and can take care of herself but she's never been on her own for so long and she can be a little too... trusting."

I had an idea were Noah was going with this and i didn't like it at all

" she won't be alone she has her friends " I shift my eyes towards said friends

One of them was 5'5 with long black hair and a killer smile. Obviously a vampire. Another was clearly a siren with short brown hair and the last one was the said siren's twin brother.

Noah snorted " Yoko? Come on Wednesday Yoko is a troublemaker she always gets Enid  into some fucked up shit that I have to fix. And  divina and Kent are basically the same "
