Episode 13 Continued - Curious Kitten
I walked in Sam's tent with dark eyes as Yumi continuously shuffled through his belongings, and she gritted her teeth before moving onto another drawer, shuffling through his clothes.
"So?" she said then, clearly sensing me. "Did you find anything?"
"Indeed," I said in a dark tone, "I did."
"Let's talk about it later," she answered then. "I'm far from done here. Help me."
I listened and went to the side, where a small nightstand was, and started peeking through a small stack of books, running my fingers along the liners.
But Yumi suddenly gasped, and I shot up.
"Master, did you find something?" I said, stepping over to her.
She was holding a small picture frame; one with a tall aged old man and three teenagers settled around him. But beside the old man... was another one that looked as if he was in his thirties.
Sam.
And the three teens were Clarice, James... and... the other I cannot recognize.
Yumi just gazed up at me. "That old man... he looks familiar."
But a stick snapped outside, and both our heads snapped in that direction.
A figure formed out from the front window, slowly making his way toward the trailer.
"Thanks again, Clarice, James!" Sam called. "I appreciate you waking early for this!"
Two distant responses faded into nothing, and I narrowed my eyes as Sam walked up the main steps of the trailer.
Yumi clutched the picture tightly. "Shit."
