It was a beautiful Monday morning, the sun rays casted a warm glow all over Ananya's house. The birds were chirping and she was getting ready while humming a song.
As she continued vibing with herself, her phone rang causing her to stop her humming.
"Good morning beta." Poonam said as she picked up the call.
"Good morning mom." She responded.
"Beta-"
"Beta, today is the first Monday of Shravan month. Don't forget to go to the temple and seek blessings today!" Ananya said interrupting her mom because she knew her words. Her mom laughed and said, "You remember han?"
"Indeed mom." she responded smiling.
"Okay Beta, have a good day. Bye, love you."
"Bye. Love you too." She said as she cut the call.Unlike yesterday she was up early today. She got ready before time and scrolled on her phone while waiting for the time to pass. Soon the clock hit 9 and she picked up her things leaving the house.
As she opened the door she found Vikram standing there with his one hand extending towards the door bell. Her eyes met with his and she chuckled at his position, but Vikram was completely mesmerized by her beautiful appearance. She wore a beige coloured suit with maroon dupatta, while her matching jhumke and small black bindi added to her beauty. Her damp hair fell on her face, making her look even more gorgeous.
It was ironical how the same girl stood here yesterday in her night dress and unorganised hair, still pretty though. His heart raced and eyes softened as he continued to look at her; completely losing all his senses.
Nevertheless he came back to reality when Ananya snapped her fingers in front of his face and said, "Kaha kho gaye mister?"
"Tumhari khoobsurti mein." He whispered leaning in with a smirk.
[Where are you lost mister?]
[In your beauty.]"Huh?" Ananya looked at him with surprise, not being able to believe what she just heard.
Vikram stood straight. His ears turned red and his smile dropped when he realized what he just said. "Ah--actually--I-I mean you are looking good." He said looking down while scratching his head with embarrassment.
"Oh. Thanks." She replied blushing.
"Are you going somewhere?" He asked while she locked the door of her house.
"Mhm, temple." She replied keeping the keys in her purse.
"Oh okay." He smiled.
"Its just 5 minutes away from here. Lets go." She said as she unlocked the car.
Vikram followed her. They both reached the temple within minutes. She got out of the car and fixed her dupatta, while Vikram watched her from the car. Everything else seemed to be blur for him, all he focused on, was Ananya. A soft smile appeared on his face as he saw Ananya getting frustrated by her own hair coming on her face. She caught him watching her and asked through the window of the car, "Aren't you coming?"
"No." He responded trying to hide his smile.
"Why? You are saying no to God?" She said dramatically.
"No, its not like--" He stopped as his phone rang in between. He picked up the call in confusion.
"Maa? Kya hua?" He questioned worried because his mother barely calls him during his work hours.[Mom? What happened?]
"Arey Beta, I forgot to tell you. Aaj Shravan ka pehla monday hai, so please atleast go to the temple today. And no arguments, its my order." Bhoomi announced on the call.
[Today is the first Monday of Shravan.]
"Okay Maa." He agreed smiling at Ananya.
"What happened?" Ananya asked with curiosity.
