Surprisingly, I woke up just ten minutes before my usual time, or say the time when the door bell mostly rings.
I opened my eyes to see him sleeping peacefully next to me. He sticked to the very corner of the bed and I was lying just a little far from him; his hand rested on mine, as if trying to stop me from going away from him.

I glanced at him and smiled, a sense of warmth swirled through me. My eyes roamed all over his face—a beautiful sight to watch in the morning—his curly long lashes, his half opened mouth, his tender soft lips-everything just adorable.

After adoring him for a minute or two, I slowly removed his hand. He stirred in his sleep keeping both of his hands between his face and the pillow, I froze in my place, not wanting to wake him up. I chuckled silently as my hand hovered above his face resisting the urge to cup it and land kisses on it.
I didn't realize but I kept staring at him until the door bell rang twice, making him jolted awake. His eyes wide opened as he saw me staring at him. I sat up straight, my eyes widened in embarrassment and I stuttered, "G-Good morning!" With a shaky smile.
He looked around and realized where he was, and then chuckled looking at me.
"Good morning." He replied in his raw morning voice, settling against the headboard. Meanwhile the door bell rang again and I ran towards the kitchen, his eyes followed me.

I opened the door and greeted the milkman but his eyes were set somewhere else. I followed his gaze and turned around to see Vikram standing a few steps behind me with folded arms-as if he is my bodyguard.

I sensed the thoughts occurring in uncle's(milkman) mind, and in order to stop them from reaching anywhere, I silenced them.
"P-Plumber hai!" I covered up trying to distract him from the bullshit he might think. Vikram raised an eyebrow in shock, and I, in expressions, pleaded him to act along. Vikram nodded and slid into the kitchen.
[He is a plumber.]
"Wo tap hai na, btaya tha na maine aapko-" I said taking the milk. He nodded agreeing to my words, it is safe to say that he was convinced with my lie.
[That tap is acting up, I told you right-]

"Bhaiya hogya wo tap thik?" I continued turning around, making sure that it should look natural.
[Is the tap repaired brother?]

I closed the door and went towards the kitchen, he stood there in utter disappointment with his arms folded.
"Plumber? Bhaiya? Seriously Ananya?!" He sighed dramatically.
"Sorry! I didn't had any other option." I uttered embarrassed.
"You did." He said, his voice deep and low. "You should have said the truth." He teased.
"Ahan is it? what I should have said? That he is my friend and we were together last night?" I chuckled.
He chuckled too and said, "Hmm, point."
I put the milk on the stove and turned to him. "If I wouldn't have lied then you know what he would have concluded? Maybe he would have assumed you as my boyfriend and all that." I said, my heart pounding with weird anxiety.
"Yeah, I understand." He said, his eyes reflecting the unsaid understanding between us.
"Oh, how's your hand now?" I asked as my gaze fell on his hand.
"It is fine now. You treated it so good that all the pain flew away like magic." He replied with a sweet smile. My heart fluttered and I just chuckled in response. We stood there in silence for a while; our eyes locked as I wondered how his words are always so soothing and perfect.

"Wanna have tea? Or coffee?" I asked breaking the silence.
"Thanks, but I don't take anything in the morning." He responded sweetly. I nodded and continued to make some tea for myself as I can't function without my morning tea. "You drink tea right after waking up?" He asked surprised, worry palpable in his voice. "Yes. I cannot function without it." I chuckled. He shook his head in disappointment. I wasn't surprised at his reaction, this is what most people do when I tell them about this habit.

"Okay go and bath now!" I said slightly pushing him out of the kitchen. He turned around, held my hands and said, "I will bath, but what about my clothes?"
I drowned deep in my thoughts and realized that he was right. What about his clothes and all?
"Yeah, you are right. But why don't you ask someone to bring your clothes here." I suggested.
"I can't. I have lied at home." He sighed, his hands not leaving mine.
"Oh. I am sorry; because of me you had to lie at your home."
"Sush. Its not like that Anu." He assured rubbing my hands. "Adi can-" He started but couldn't complete his words as he got a call. He ran inside the room and attended the call, I followed him.
"Yes mom?" He said as soon as he picked up the call. I stood behind him while he talked over the phone.
"Yes mom I am fine, don't worry. I am coming home in 10 minutes." He assured and cut the call.
I looked at him with curiosity, wanting to know what she said. "Ananya, I have to leave now. My mom's getting angrily worried." He said collecting his clothes. I nodded and left the room for him to change his clothes. He stepped out in hurry, all dressed up and ready to leave. I stood out of the kitchen, my heart felt uneasy: the incident of last night left a deep scar on my mind.
