A throbbing, almost excruciating headache awoke Arthur from his slumber. The torturous pounding in his head felt as though his skull had been split open. He looks at his wife's sleeping face and thought that might bring him some relief. Clutching his head in his hands, he wanted to scream but dared not to.
He gets up and heads to balcony rubbing the temple of his head to try and soothe the pain yet it would not go away. He could feel the veins in his head about to burst as he grimaced in pain.
You're not worthy to be king. A demonic voice began echoing in his head. You don't love Selenia, it's just a crush, how can YOU be king? YOU are a failure to everyone you know and love. Stop denying it Arthur cause here's the truth, YOU ARE NOTHING!!!
Shut up devil! He thought to himself.
The pounding persisted soon becoming worse overtime. Arthur heads down the stairs towards the tunnel as there were no guards on duty. All were still asleep. He sneaks out and takes a walk through the first kingdom hoping some fresh air will help to alleviate this pain.
Passing through tall blades of grass that extended to the skyline towering over him, he continues walking till he came to a small stream of water. He kneels down, cupping his hands in the water and splashing his face. The coolness it provided helped a little but not much.
Sitting down by the stream, he starts contemplating on whether he should go back to the human world or continue as a minimoy and stay with his beloved wife whom he's forever enamored with and will do anything to see her smile. Since becoming King, the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of minimoys all now rest upon his shoulders. It was enough to crack even the toughest of people yet he had to keep going. Showing weakness results in defeat as Arthur remembered reading something about that.
A small voice began calling out from somewhere deep inside his heart. Your courage and bravery knew no bounds. All the choices you have made in life have benefited you. You are worthy to be king, don't let what that scheming demon said get to you. Be strong Arthur. Listen to me, you know what's good, what's right, You're not a failure. You love Selenia.
He climbs atop one of the blades of grass above the stream and sat down looking up at the blue sky. He closes his eyes, beginning to meditate taking in long, deep breaths calming himself down.
Why let that angel spew her nonsense? Everyone saw it. Admit it, you're not fit to be a ruler nor are you even remotely qualified to take that position. I'm in control! YOU OBEY ME!!! I run this show now.
Get out of my head demon, be far from me! Arthur stated subconsciously. "How much longer can I endure this?" asking himself as he climbs down from the blade of grass and heads back into the tunnel. It was damp, muddy, and dark but to Arthur, it was a perfect place to take out frustrations if needed.
Selenia wakes up and is stunned to see her husband not beside her. She lifts off the covers as she feared something horrible may have befallen him. Pacing around her room, she looks out her window and sees Arthur coming in with a very neutral expression on his face.
She runs out and hugs Arthur tightly as tears fell from her eyes. "Where did you go? I was so worried when I didn't see you I thought something awful had happened and I felt anxious." She said slowly letting him go.
"I'm ok, honey, I took a walk outside the village to get some fresh air." He told her not showing he was lying to her face.
enough of this lovey dovey crap. It's not gonna help you get rid of me. Give up you worthless king, I've won. Your life is over. Face it, You've lost. AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
