Over the next few weeks, Ashley found herself buying more frequently, not just because she needed the drugs, but because she enjoyed Alvan's company. His rugged charm and mysterious aura had captivated her and made her interested in him.
At first, their interactions were purely transactional, but over time, they developed a friendship that she cherished deeply.
She started inviting him to stay a while whenever he came over. They would talk about anything and everything, from music to life to their dreams. Alvan began to look forward to these visits just as much as Ashley did.
One evening, as they sat in Ashley's apartment, the air thick with smoke, she felt a shift in the atmosphere. Alvan was sitting closer than usual, his eyes lingering on her lips.Ashley's heart beat a little faster as she looked into Alvan's eyes.
Alvan leaned back on the couch, his dark eyes fixed on Ashley as he passed her the joint. His fingers brushed against hers, sending a thrill down her spine. She took a slow drag, feeling the familiar warmth spread through her chest.
"You're quiet tonight," Alvan said, his voice low and husky.
Ashley smiled, exhaling the smoke slowly. "Just thinking," she replied, meeting his gaze.
"About what?" he asked, shifting closer to her. The space between them seemed to crackle with unspoken tension.
"About you," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alvan raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "Oh? And what about me?"
Ashley took another drag, feeling her courage build. "I like you, Alvan. More than just... this." She gestured to the joint and the space around them.
For a moment, Alvan said nothing, his expression unreadable. Then, with deliberate slowness, he leaned in closer. Ashley's breath caught in her throat as he brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, his touch sending shivers down her spine.
"I like you too, Ashley," he murmured, his lips inches from hers. "But I need you to understand something. I'm not looking for anything serious. We can have fun, enjoy each other, but no strings attached. Can you handle that?"
Ashley's heart sank, but she nodded, unable to resist the pull she felt toward him. "Yeah, I can handle that."
Alvan's smile widened as he closed the distance between them, his lips capturing hers in a slow, intoxicating kiss. Ashley's heart raced as she kissed him back ,the world around them fading away as they lost themselves in each other, the joint forgotten on the table.
