Nalini ( Nirvaan mother is Doctor by profession)
After a grueling day at the hospital, where she lost a young patient, Nalini returned home feeling the weight of the day. She decided to take a quiet walk in the garden to clear her mind. As she walked, her phone rang—Ranvijay, her husband, was calling.
Ranvijay:
"Hi jaan, I know I haven’t called you for a week . I know me saying sorry is not worth it too. I’m missing you all so much. How are you?"Nalini:
"Hmm, all good. And don’t apologize, I know you’re Busy with meetings. Did you even manage to eat on time ?"Ranvijay :
"Yes, but I’m missing home-cooked food. I wish I were there."Nalini:
"Then come home soon.Ranvijay:
Why do you sound so off today? Everything okay?"Nalini:
You remember that kid I told you about, Ken? We lost him today. It’s just heartbreaking. His face keeps flashing in my mind."There was a brief, heavy silence on the line as Ranvijay took in her words.
Ranvijay:
"Nalini, you gave your best. You did everything you could. Sometimes, we have to find solace in the fact that he’s no longer suffering. He’s in a better place now."Nalini:
"Ya, I know. It’s just hard to shake off the sadness. Thank you for understanding."They talked a bit more, offering each other comfort and support before ending the call.
A few minutes later, Nirvaan came outside to find his mother. Seeing her alone, he approached and enveloped her in a comforting hug.
Nalini:
"Arey, Chiku, kya hua? You hugging me without any reason?"Nirvaan:
"I can hug my Maa for no reason at all. It’s just needed."Nalini: chuckled 😆 acha how was my bacha's day ?
Nirvana smiled It was good Maa ☺️
Nirvaan then pulled out a small container of choco chips chocolate ice-cream .
"Look what I brought—choco ice cream, just for you."Nalini:
"Did Dad ask you to bring this?"Nirvaan:
"Yes, he did. He’s always so thoughtful and romantic. I’m feeling a bit single all of a sudden."Nalini chuckled softly.
Nalini:
"Well, if you’re feeling single, maybe it’s time to find someone. You know, settle down."Nirvaan:
"Maa, I’m ready, but it feels like my future bride is playing hide and seek with me. I can’t seem to find her.""Speaking of which, how was your date with Ruhani ? I like her. What do you think?"
Nirvaan:
"She’s nice, Maa. We had a good time, but I’m still figuring things out. We’ll see."They continued their conversation, eating the ice cream and sharing their thoughts. Nirvaan rested his head on Nalini’s lap, gazing up at the stars.
Nalini and Nirvaan continued their walk in the garden. The chocolate ice cream was long gone, but their conversation was still going strong.
Nalini:
"Chiku, you know, always be grateful for what you have. Life is so unpredictable. You never know what might happen."Nirvaan nodded, taking in his mother's words.
Nirvaan:"Maa, tell me something. Why did you choose Dad? I mean, it was an arranged marriage. How did you know he was the one?"
