As Nirvaan's professional reputation grew, so did the media attention around him. His success with Airvoice and the upcoming Karpel launch made him a popular figure in business circles, and soon enough, articles began to circulate about him being one of the most eligible bachelors in town. His charm and good looks caught the eye of many, and it wasn't uncommon for him to receive attention from women at events and in public.
Despite this attention, Nirvaan remained a private person. He had always been protective of his personal life, preferring to keep it out of the public eye. He rarely spoke about his relationships and avoided discussing personal matters in interviews. His relationship with Ruhani was no different—he wanted to protect their privacy and keep things low-key, especially given the public scrutiny.
However, this approach didn't sit well with Ruhani. As Nirvaan's popularity grew, so did her insecurities. She became increasingly anxious about the women who showed interest in him, despite his reassurances. This insecurity led to frequent calls and messages, where Ruhani would ask where he was, who he was with, and what he was doing. While Nirvaan tried to be understanding and patient, he found these constant check-ins frustrating, feeling they were a sign of mistrust.
One evening, Nirvaan returned home after a long day of meetings and found several missed calls and messages from Ruhani. He sighed, knowing he had to address the growing tension between them. He called her back.
Nirvaan:
"Hey, Ruhani. Sorry, I missed your calls. It was a busy day."Ruhani:
"Hey... I was just worried. You didn't pick up, and I saw those pictures online from the event. Who was that woman talking to you?"Nirvaan frowned, feeling the frustration bubbling up. "Ruhani, she was just a colleague. We were discussing work. You know how these events are—people talk, network. It's part of the job."
Ruhani:
"But you were smiling and laughing with her. It just... it made me feel uncomfortable."Nirvaan took a deep breath, trying to keep his voice calm. "Ruhani, I've told you before, these interactions mean nothing. I don't have time for anyone else but you. But this constant questioning... it's not healthy. I need you to trust me."
There was a pause on the other end. Ruhani's voice was softer, almost pleading. "I do trust you, Nirvaan. But it's hard when you're always around other women. I just... I don't want to lose you."
Nirvaan rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on. "I understand you're worried, but I can't live my life constantly reassuring you. It's exhausting. For me, trust is fundamental in a relationship. If we don't have that, then what do we have?"
Ruhani:
"I know, I know... I'm trying. But seeing you with other women, it just triggers something in me. I can't help it."Nirvaan sighed. "Ruhani, I care about you, but you need to understand that I have a public life too. I can't avoid talking to people, and I can't hide in a corner to make you feel secure. You need to trust that I'm committed to you, and that my interactions with others are just professional."
There was a long silence. Finally, Ruhani spoke, her voice strained. "I'll try to be better. But you have to understand how hard it is for me."
Nirvaan nodded, though she couldn't see it. "I do. And I'll try to be more understanding too. But we need to find a balance. I can't be constantly on edge, worrying about upsetting you. We need to work on this together."
They ended the call with a promise to try and work through their issues, but Nirvaan couldn't shake the feeling of unease. He knew they were at a crossroads, and unless they found a way to build trust, their relationship might not survive the pressures of his growing public life and Ruhani's insecurities.
Ruhani, on her end, felt a mix of guilt and fear. She wanted to trust Nirvaan, but her insecurities were hard to silence. She knew she had to work on them, but the thought of him being surrounded by attractive, interested women made her anxious. It was a delicate situation, one that required patience and understanding from both sides if they were to move forward together.
The Instagram Post
It was a quiet Saturday morning when Nirvaan woke up to a flood of notifications on his phone. He groggily picked it up, expecting the usual work emails and messages. Instead, he found numerous mentions and tags on Instagram. Curious, he opened the app and saw that Ruhani had posted a photo of them together at the recent fashion event.
The photo was a candid shot of them smiling and talking, with the caption: "Grateful for this amazing guy in my life, Nirvaan. Couldn't be happier ❤️ #Blessed #NirvaanRuhani #Love"
Nirvaan's stomach dropped. He had always been cautious about sharing personal aspects of his life publicly, especially his relationships. And now, without his permission, a private moment was out for everyone to see. It didn't take long for the post to gain traction, with comments pouring in and gossip sites picking up the story.
Feeling a mix of anger and betrayal, he quickly called Ruhani.
Nirvaan:
"Ruhani, what were you thinking? Why did you post that photo without asking me?"Ruhani's voice came through the phone, sounding surprised. "Nirvaan, good morning! Oh, you saw the post? I thought it was a nice picture. What's the problem?"
Nirvaan:
"The problem is that I like to keep my personal life private. Now it's all over the news, and everyone knows about us. I didn't want this kind of attention, especially not without discussing it with you first."Ruhani's tone became defensive. "But I didn't think it was a big deal! I was just sharing a happy moment. Why is that wrong?"
Nirvaan took a deep breath, trying to keep his frustration in check. "It's not about the moment, Ruhani. It's about respect and understanding boundaries. You know how I feel about my privacy. This isn't just about us; it's about how it affects my life, my family, and my work."
There was a pause, and then Ruhani spoke, her voice quieter. "I'm sorry, Nirvaan. I didn't mean to upset you. I just... I was excited about us and wanted to share that."
Nirvaan:
"I get that you're excited, and I'm not trying to diminish that. But you have to understand that there's a line, and you crossed it. You should have talked to me before posting something so personal."Ruhani sighed. "I didn't think it would blow up like this. I just wanted to show that I care about you."
Nirvaan softened a little, hearing the sincerity in her voice. "I know you do, and I care about you too. But we need to be on the same page about how we handle these things. I can't have surprises like this. It complicates things, especially with the media constantly watching."
Ruhani was silent for a moment, then spoke again. "I'll take it down. And I'm sorry for not considering your feelings. I just... I didn't realize it would be such a big deal."
Nirvaan:
"Thank you. And I appreciate that you want to share your happiness, but we need to talk about these things first. It's not just about protecting my privacy; it's about making sure we're both comfortable with what we share."After they hung up, Nirvaan felt a mixture of relief and lingering frustration. He appreciated Ruhani's willingness to take down the post and her apology, but he couldn't shake the feeling that they were still struggling with communication and understanding each other's boundaries.
Ruhani, on the other hand, felt a pang of regret. She hadn't meant to upset Nirvaan, but she realized she had been insensitive to his feelings and preferences. As she deleted the post, she resolved to be more mindful of their differences and to communicate better in the future.
The incident left both of them with a lot to think about. It was a reminder that even small actions could have big implications, and that building a relationship required patience, respect, and understanding from both sides.
