The horse snorted as it pulled the cart that carried Wilhelm, Jacob, Charlotte, and Alice.

“Say, dear brother Jacob, if you don’t mind, do you think you could tell me that story again? The one you told me about the girl who got lost in the woods on her way to her grandma’s and then got eaten by a wolf,” Charlotte asked.

“Oh, Little Red Riding Hood?” Jacob inquired.

“Yes!” Charlotte nodded.

“It seems you are very fond of that story,” Wilhelm said.

Charlotte said, “I love the part where the girl brings bread and wine to her grandmother’s house. Also, I like when she plays in the flower field on her way there.”

“My favorite part is when the wolf grabs Little Red,” Alice said, playfully grabbing Charlotte and pretending to eat her. The two girls laughed at each other’s playfulness.

“I see. But isn’t the wolf frightening to you?” Jacob asked Charlotte.

“Mm, not at all!” Charlotte hummed. “Because the girl and her grandma combine their strength and fight him together! That mean wolf didn’t stand a chance in the end. I’m not scared in the slightest!”

“Our sister is very brave,” Wilhelm told Jacob.

“But...” Charlotte trailed off, getting everyone’s attention.

Charlotte stated, “I wager the wolf isn’t the only one. I’m certain there are more in the vicinity. It’s a near certainty.”

Wilhelm laughed at this.

“What’s so funny?” Alice asked her husband.

“It’s nothing, Alice.” Wilhelm said before turning to his little sister. “No, there’s only one bad wolf. So, there’s no need to worry about it, okay, Charlotte?”

Charlotte sighs in reassurance. “Okay. I’m happy to hear that.”
