Anika’s POV :-
Opening the door of our room, I stepped inside as my eyes wandered around, looking for the person for whom I had come rushing all the way along from the living room.
Where is he ?
Sighing deeply, I heard some shuffles from the adjacent study room when I involuntarily walked towards the door. Slightly pushing the door open, I saw Shivaay, typing something furiously on his MacBook.
Work !
The thing which he always does whenever he gets angry. At least he is here. That way, I won't have to worry about him.
Letting out my breath, I turned to go, without making any kind of noise.
I don't want to face this devil ! Not when he is angry. Already our relationship is on the verge of breaking. I can't afford another fight.
“ Anika ?” I stopped in my tracks as his voice resonated in the room. I tightly shut my eyes in regret. I shouldn't have come here to check upon him when I heard the sound of shuffling in the room.
God, now help me.
Turning around, I looked at Shivaay who had his strong gaze fixed on me. Gulping hard, I took a step towards his desk, praying in mind for my well-being.
“ How many times do I need to repeat the same thing again and again ?” His voice laced with anger and frustration as he clenched his jaw and banged on the desk in front of him, making me flinch at my place. “ Stay in your limits as far as you can and stop interfering in my life whenever something happens.”
“ Shivaay…” I tried explaining.
“ Not again,” he let out a groan as he cut me off, giving me a pointed look,“ I don't want to hear the same thing from your mouth which your loving Dad and Papa told me.”
He is getting it completely wrong. I was not here to tell him the same thing which our parents told him.
Why can't he hear my side before coming to the conclusion ?
“ I never want you to stay away from your sister’s matter,” I finally spoke back when I saw him narrowing his eyes at my words in confusion. “ It's just that, I was here to see whether you are here or not.” I looked at him, softening my expressions. And I saw him looking at me with some kind of emotions which were difficult to recognise but within seconds, the same emotions were plastered with blankness.
Though we don't share the same bond like before, I can't just stop worrying for him all of a sudden just because he doesn't give a damn about me.
He can think of anything !
I don't care as long as I keep both my family safe and fine.“ Stop worrying when you know we have nothing in between us,” Shivaay said as he focused his attention back on the MacBook.
“ It's you who thinks there is nothing,” I retorted, knowing very well he would never appreciate my comeback. Obviously not in the matter where our relationship was at the top of the topic.
“ So, you are here to make me understand that you still love me while I am being ignorant towards you ?” His voice was more like a mockery but I maintained my composed self, not wanting to let him know the effects of his words which are like a threat to my emotions which I have been holding back all along.
“ No, ” I managed to say, looking at everything in the room but at him,“ I am here out of concern. I don't want to make you understand anything which relates to the things of our past.”
