With the scavenger hunt officially planned for the weekend, the rest of the week flew by in a blur of classes, homework, and endless chatter about the upcoming event. As Friday afternoon rolled around, excitement was at an all-time high.

During lunch, we gathered at our usual table, discussing last-minute details. Maya had quickly become an integral part of our group, her sharp wit and easygoing nature making her a perfect fit.

Vansh: "Okay, so we have our teams and clues ready. Remember, the final location is the library, but each clue will lead you to a significant spot on campus."

Arjun: "I can't believe we got Ms. Patel to agree to be part of this. She's usually so strict."

Naina: "Probably because Maya charmed her with her British accent and knowledge of the House of Windsor and the Victorian era."

Maya: "Oh, please. I just told her it would be a great learning experience. Plus, I might have mentioned something about the House of Hanover and the importance of historical scavenger hunts."

Sameer: "Just make sure we don't get into trouble. We still have exams to worry about."

As we finalized our plans, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The scavenger hunt was going to be epic, but something about Maya's easy integration into our group made me curious. She seemed to fit in too perfectly, and I wondered if there was more to her story.

That evening, after finishing my homework, I decided to listen to some music to unwind. I put on "Boy With Luv" by BTS, letting the beat and lyrics wash over me. As I closed my eyes, I couldn't help but think of Sameer. His disciplined and caring nature reminded me so much of my bias, Jin. I dreamt about what it would be like if Sameer and I were together, sharing moments just like in the song.

Just then, my phone buzzed with a message from Maya.

Maya: Hey, Naina! Got a minute to chat?

Naina: Sure, what's up?

Maya: I was wondering if you could help me with something. It's a bit personal, though.

Intrigued, I called her. "Hey, Maya. What's going on?"

Maya sighed on the other end. "I haven't been entirely honest with you guys. I moved here from London because of some family issues. My parents are going through a rough patch, and I needed a fresh start."

I was taken aback. "I'm sorry to hear that. It must be tough."

"It is," Maya admitted. "But being here with you all has been amazing. I just didn't want to burden you with my problems."

"You're not a burden," I assured her. "We're friends, and friends help each other out. Besides, we all have our issues. You're not alone."

Maya's voice softened. "Thanks, Naina. That means a lot. It kind of reminds me of a Gossip Girl episode, where friends stick together no matter what. You know, like Serena and Blair."

"Exactly," I said, smiling. "We've got each other's backs. Just like in Gossip Girl."

The next day, the scavenger hunt kicked off with a bang. The school grounds were buzzing with excitement as teams raced to solve clues and reach the final destination. Laughter and shouts filled the air, and for a few hours, we forgot about schoolwork and responsibilities.

As the sun set, we gathered in the library, the final location. Sameer, Arjun, Vansh, and I were exhausted but exhilarated. Maya had been a superstar, her knowledge of random trivia and British history giving us an edge.

Arjun: "Well, that was fun. I think we should make this a monthly event."

Sameer: "As long as it doesn't interfere with our studies."

Vansh: "Lighten up, Sameer. We need some fun in our lives."

Maya: "Agreed. And I must say, this has been one of the best days I've had since moving here."

As we walked home, I couldn't help but smile. This was more than just a scavenger hunt. It was the beginning of new alliances and the uncovering of old secrets. And with Maya now fully part of our group, I knew this year would be full of surprises.

As I said goodbye to Maya, she gave me a knowing look and said, "You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl."

I laughed and waved. "Goodbye, M."

And with that, the adventure continued.
