As the school days rolled on, St. Mary's High School was buzzing with excitement and anticipation. The midterms were over, and everyone was looking forward to the upcoming school dance. It was all anyone could talk about, and for once, it was nice to focus on something other than academics.

During lunch, Maya and I sat at our usual table, flipping through fashion magazines and discussing potential outfits for the dance.

Maya: "I'm thinking of going for a classic look, maybe something inspired by Bridgerton. You know, elegant and timeless."

Naina: "That sounds perfect! I'm still undecided. Maybe something bold, like Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl."

Maya: "You'd rock that! Oh, by the way, have you heard the new ENHYPEN song, 'Drunk-Dazed'? It's been on repeat for me."

Naina: "Yes! I love the energy of that song. It's perfect for getting into the party mood."

As we discussed outfits and music, the boys joined us, their conversation just as lively.

Vansh: "I can't believe you guys are already planning outfits. It's just a school dance."

Sameer: "It's more than just a dance, Vansh. It's a chance to unwind and have some fun."

Arjun: "Yeah, plus it's a great excuse to dress up and impress everyone."

Naina: "Exactly. And it's a chance to make some unforgettable memories."

The days leading up to the dance were filled with excitement and preparation. Maya and I spent our evenings discussing our favorite K-pop groups and trying out different makeup looks.

One evening, while we were experimenting with makeup, Maya brought up a topic that had been on my mind.

Maya: "So, Naina, have you thought about asking Sameer to the dance?"

Naina: "I've thought about it, but I'm too nervous. What if he doesn't feel the same way?"

Maya: "You'll never know unless you try. Besides, I've seen the way he looks at you. There's definitely something there."

Naina: "You think so?"

Maya: "Absolutely. Just go for it. And if all else fails, remember what Blair Waldorf says: 'Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness didn't know where to shop.'"

We both laughed, feeling a bit more at ease. Maya had a way of making everything seem possible.

The day of the dance finally arrived, and the school gym was transformed into a magical wonderland of lights and decorations. As I walked in, wearing a stunning red dress that Maya had helped me pick out, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves.

The music was loud, and the dance floor was already packed. ENHYPEN's "Drunk-Dazed" blared through the speakers, setting the perfect party vibe. I spotted Sameer, Arjun, and Vansh near the punch bowl, looking dapper in their suits.

Sameer: "Wow, Naina, you look amazing."

Naina: "Thanks, Sameer. You clean up pretty well yourself."

We shared a smile, and for a moment, the rest of the room faded away.

As the night went on, I finally gathered the courage to ask Sameer to dance.

Naina: "Hey, Sameer, would you like to dance?"

Sameer: "I thought you'd never ask."

We made our way to the dance floor as a slow song began to play. Being so close to him, I could feel my heart racing. As we swayed to the music, I couldn't help but think of the similarities between Sameer and my favorite BTS member, Jin. Both were kind, reliable, and incredibly handsome.

Naina: "This is nice. I'm glad we came."

Sameer: "Me too. Naina, I've been meaning to tell you something."

Before he could continue, the music switched to a more upbeat track, and the moment was interrupted by our friends pulling us into a group dance. Despite the interruption, I felt hopeful. There was definitely something special between Sameer and me.

Later that night, as we all gathered outside to cool off, the conversation turned to our favorite TV shows and music.

Vansh: "So, what's everyone watching these days?"

Arjun: "I've been binge-watching 'Stranger Things.' The 80s vibe and supernatural elements are just amazing."

Sameer: "I'm into 'The Crown' these days. The depiction of the British royal family is so intriguing."

Naina: "I've been rewatching 'Gossip Girl.' There's something about the Upper East Side drama that never gets old."

Maya: "You know you love it, XOXO."

We all laughed, enjoying the easy camaraderie.

Arjun: "And what about music? Any new favorites?"

Maya: "I'm obsessed with Taylor Swift's 'Love Story' lately. It's such a classic."

Vansh: "I've been listening to a lot of The Weeknd. His music is perfect for any mood."

Naina: "I'm really into Hindi pop these days. Have you heard 'Pachtaoge' by Arijit Singh? It's beautiful."

Sameer: "That's a great song. I've also been enjoying raps of Eminem It's so uplifting."

As we wrapped up our  session, Sameer offered to walk me home. My heart raced at the thought of spending some one-on-one time with him.

Sameer: "So, how are you holding up with everything? I know it's been a lot lately."

Naina: "I'm managing. It's just a bit overwhelming at times. But thanks for asking."

Sameer: "If you ever need to talk or need help with anything, I'm here. You know that, right?"

Naina: "Thanks, Sameer. That means a lot to me."

As we walked, I couldn't help but think about how much I appreciated Sameer's support. He was more than just a friend; he was someone I could rely on, someone who made me feel safe and understood.

That evening, I settled into bed with my earphones, listening to "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dione. The upbeat melody and sweet lyrics made me think of Sameer and how he had become such an important part of my life.

Naina: "I guess life isn't so bad when you have friends like these. And who knows, maybe this crush will turn into something more."

With that thought, I drifted off to sleep, dreaming of a future filled with love, friendship, and endless possibilities.
