[3RD PERSON POV]
Of course your mother wants you to put the phone on speaker. Were you really going to do that? No. "Mom, I'll let you talk to him later okay?" you said with your eyes still fixed on your phone. Your mom just pouted before giving a wide smile "OKAYYYYYYYYYYY".
Humming in response you pick up the phone while making your way to their guest bedroom, which would have been where you were staying if not for the project. Your parents bought a new house when you moved back and since you stayed with your boyfriend they didn't bother saving you a room.
"Why did it take you so long to pick up?" You heard his voice say from the other side of the line, his voice was cold but soft. What you were used to.
"I was talking to my parents."
"So you made it, how was your trip?"
"It was fine...is there anything else you need..?
You heard a scoff from the other side of the line.
"What I need a reason to call my boyfriend?"
You roll your eyes at his reply. 'Yes' you thought to yourself but of course aren't stupid enough to say it to him. If you did he would just give a snarky reply in return. So, instead you just hummed in response before speaking again.
"I'm really tired, I'll talk to you later."
That's all you said before hanging up, it was a lie. A really obvious lie at that. You were tired but not really tired. You weren't going to call him back and he knew that. You knew that Sae knew it was a lie. Did you care? Not one bit.
You hated having a soulmate, as odd as that sounds, it was a fact. You threw your phone on the bed before going to the bathroom to take a shower and freshen up. Slipping off your clothes you step into the shower, turning it on when you're in.
It felt nice, the warm water hitting your skin, it felt nice, but what felt even better was the nostalgic feeling of being at home with your parents. No soulmate, not in Spain, but in Japan. In parents house with them, just how it used to be.
Truth be told you would love to stay with them, but, what can you do? You already agreed to help out in the project and weren't quite the type to take back your words and besides it seemed interesting enough for you to give it a shot.
Honestly, if they managed to be successful, it would be quite the sight to see Sae eat his words. You knew what kind of person Sae was, so you also knew how much he looked down upon japanese soccer.
After a bit of time you turn the shower off, get dressed and begin making your way back down stairs to get something to eat before passing out for the day. Once you were down you saw your father and mother waiting for you at the dinning table, they would begin to eat when you came, you walk towards them and sat down in front of them.
Once you sat down all of you said a quick prayer before beginning to eat.
