Bright, clear sunlight day for the beginning of a work week, Marleena was leaving the house dressed in a herringbone skirt suit going to the office, not realizing that she was supposed to be on vacation, which she canceled. As she entered the office her secretary, Cera Charles was retrieving a file from her desk when she heard "Cera, where's that file on the Jubal Corporation contract that was supposed to be finalized before I left on Friday?" Cera knowing that Marleena was fuming mad at her sister for changing the cost of the financial side of the contract, just by the look on her face. She had walked in behind Marleena, she placed the contract file on the desk in front of her, watching Marleena turn the page to the lined out original cost of the project with all of the required safety features for the Na-no-micro technology building that Jubal Corporation needed for its building. Picking up the paper that had all of those lines and unreadable pen scratches and scribbles she ripped up the paper, opening up her computer retrieving the file from the program she had created for them and reprintied it.
"Please call Talley Jubalin and tell him we have the contract fixed and see if he would be available to come to the office to go over it and making sure that it suits his purpose." Marleena had requested.
Cera nodded "Yes, I will do so right away" and promptly left the Marleena's office.
While Cera was calling the Jubal Corporation, Marleena dialed her sister office extension number, "Mag's why did you change the amount of the price for the building of the Na-no-micro building on the contract? You have really screwed up this time. Do you know this?"
Maggie answering softly "I will be in your office in two minutes to explain all of this to you and how we can cut down on the cost of this building" within in the minute Maggie walked into Marleena's office with a smug smile on her face like she had eaten the canary.
Marleena looking at her sister with a cold unrelenting stare from her gray eyes "Well you better have a good excuse this time. The last time you did this we had to pay for all of the issues that befell the business at hand. Do you want to do that again? If so then I suggest you take over as the CEO here and deal with the contracts and people that come here for our trusted services in the projects we provide for" Maggie seeing Marleena seething and glaring like she could rip someone's head off their shoulder's, she looked down at her feet.
"The contract was to much and they did not like it so Treyce said that it could be cheaper if the areas were not as big and only allowed for just very few people to work in those areas and still remain safe" Maggie realizing that she had brought her husband into the business meeting that she was not to have anyone except her secretary and her to see the contract thru.
"Well if that is how you feel about it then you take this and have YOUR HUSBAND draw up the plans and present it to the Jubal Corporation. And see if they will sign the contract with him. CAUSE I won't do it unless there are safety features that will protect them and the product they make, YOU hear me." Marleena stated with hostility in her voice and Maggie had never had her sister to raise her voice at her before.
Nodding her head Maggie left Marleena's office feeling like she had been scolded like a little kid, so she immediately called her husband Treyce Polymire.
"Treyce, we did a major faux paux, Marleena is pissed off at me for changing the proposal to the client with him signing the proposal that had the corrections hand written on it. What do we do now and how can we correct this.?" Maggie sounding scared was worried that this time she would really be the CEO of the Sharm Enterprises which she did not want the responsibility for. She really did like to get Marleena into trouble when she was able to do so, thinking that now her plan is really backfiring on her.
Treyce talking in a calm cool voice "Don't worry about your big sis she will be fine as for what you need to do is stay with the plan. She will figure it out eventually even though she isn't the brightest crayon in the box." he was thinking of pitting one sister against the other.
"Then how can I do that when they have already called the Jubal Corporation, wanting to have him sign the contract again. It will reflect the original price that she wants to have him sign. Do you think that Talley will sign the original contract, or will he ask for the contract that we made the adjustments to?" Maggie swore under her breathe 'damn sister, she always gets what she wants, but not this time'
"No need to fear he won't sign again trust me, when I say that. We told him that it was her idea to change it if he needs to and he had done it not us. Be patient and see what she will do, okay." Treyce's voice was comforting to Maggie as she hung up the phone. Not seeing Cera behind her when she was talking she looked straight ahead and went to her office. To hear what Marleena was going to do next.
Cera immediately went into Marleena's office with the day and time for her to meet with Talley for She agreed with the time and day as she had nothing better to do on her vacation time. Cera also was a good friend of Marleena's and had reported what she heard Maggie say on the phone to Treyce. "I have over heard you sister talking to her husband and it does not sound very good, unless they are talking about what he is needing to do for his job." Cera said with concern in her voice.
"Thank you for telling me this. I will personally let grandpa know what Maggie is up to and that she has involved an outsider with her in our business affairs." Marleena reassured her "we will make it through this time and there would be no hindrances to this project as well from now on."
Cera smiled and turned back to the door for her desk to finish the work she had to do before lunch. When her phone rang as she answered, "Sharm's Enterprises, Cera speaking. How may I help you?"
The voice on the other side was Treyce's sounding upset "Is Marleena in? If so I need to speak with her, NOW"
Cera put the call through to Marleena "Treyce is on the line and he sounds upset or worse,"
"Thank you, Cera," putting the call through "Now Treyce what are you upset about, now that you were so rude to my secretary for?" Marleena sounding very much in charge of the conversation.
"Why did you have to redo that f+++ng Contract. You know you cant afford to redo the work that has started on the building." Treyce's voice sounding like he was threatening her.
"For one thing you do not own this business and have no say in how our contract's are written up nor do you need to know what is in them. All you need to know is how to carry out the plans that are designed for the building with the fire codes and all of the safety plans in place for the customer who asked us to do the job, NOT CUT CORNER'S." Marleena was red in the face and her blood pressure was rising having talked to not with her brother-in-law, 'Why did Maggie have to marry a jerk like him in the first place. He can't really be that ridiculously stupid could he?' Marleena thought as she slammed the receiver down on the cradle for the phone.
"Cera, I'm going home now, so I can talk to grandpa about what Maggie had done. I don't want to deal with her for the rest of the day. So if any one calls let them know I will be back in the office in the next couple of weeks if they want to talk to me or if it's urgent then call me with their name and I will return their call." Marleena said as she was walking out the door to head home.
WOW WHAT HAPPENED TO CAUSE MARLEENA TO BE SO ANGRY? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS AND VOTE AS WELL. I will try to put in three chapters a week and publish on Wednesday. for now just this chapter.
