Chapter Two: The Weirdo on Maple Street

It's the next morning and Ally gets up out of her bed. She does her usual routine and gets ready for school. When she hears the door to her house open and close.
She walks out of her bedroom and finds her dad in the living room.

"Okay so you're allowed to stay out all night and I'm not?" Ally says sarcastically as she walks to the fridge.
"Ally!" Hopper huffs and rolls his eyes as he sits down for a minute.
"I'm assuming by that look you haven't found him yet?" Ally responds as she goes to pick up her backpack.
"Nope, kids just vanished into thin air!" He says head back as if he's about to fall asleep until he notices Ally head for the door.
"Hey, hey where are you going?" He says sitting up.
"School? What am I not allowed to go to school when I'm under house arrest?" She responds. 
"Yes you're allowed to go to school, but not on your own, I'll drive you!" Hopper responds as he gets up and grabs his keys.
"We just need to make a quick detour first" he says as they walk out.
"Where?" She asks
"The Byers" He responds.

Once they arrive at the Byers and Hopper turns off the gas he turns to look at her.

"Stay in the car, this shouldn't take too long" he says.
"Fine." Ally responds folding her arms in a huff.

Hopper walks up to the door and knocks on it. Ally watches as Joyce Byers opens the door, she makes eye contact with the woman who then points to her while shouting at her dad then closes the door.
Ally sits for a good 10 mins before she gets bored and decides to go in and see what's taking so long.

"To hell with this" she mutters to herself as she walks towards the front door, she lets herself in just as she overhears Joyce.
"You think I don't know my own son's breathing? Wouldn't you know your own daughters?" Joyce yells at him.

Hopper doesn't say anything he just looks up and notices his oldest daughter standing there shocked at Joyce's words, Joyce notices his awkward shift and turns around and notices Ally standing beside Jonathan. 

"I told you to stay in the car" Hopper says calmly
"You also told me this wouldn't take long" Ally replies eyeing Joyce.

Hopper turns back to Joyce.

"You hear from Lonnie yet?" He asks.
"No" Joyce says bluntly
"It's been long enough I'm having him checked out, let's go Ally" he says sternly as he turns to walk out and takes Ally's arm with him as he leaves.
"Oh come on you're wasting your time" Joyce responds as she follows after them.

As the two Hoppers walk towards the truck he finally lets go of Ally's arm as she goes to get in.

"Get in the truck Ally!" Hopper says as he takes out a pill bottle and pops two pills.

Ally is in the process of opening the door as she sees Jonathan run down towards them, she stays standing beside the truck to hear what he has to say.

"Hey, Hopper. Hopper" Jonathan shouts.

As Hopper turns to look at him he rolls his eyes.

"Hey, let me go!" He continues.
"I'm sorry?" Hopper questions him as he takes out a cigarette.
"To Lonnie's, you know if Will's there it means he ran away, and if he sees the cops he'll think he's in trouble. He'll, he'll hide. You know, he's good at hiding" Jonathan says as he looks at Ally, she just looks back at him expressionless, but offers a small smile.
"Yeah. Well cops are good at finding. Okay? Stay here with your mom. She needs you." He says with his hands on Jonathan's shoulders.
"Let's go Ally" he adds as he gets in the truck.
"I'll see you in school." She says to him with another small smile as she gets in the truck.

At school Ally is with Nancy and Bard waiting for the first bell to ring. Barb is testing Nancy on the answer to her chemistry test. Ally isn't listening though she's thinking about earlier at the Byers and what Joyce said to her dad.
