Nanami yawned. It was a Sunday morning, but she couldn't have been more tired. Trying to keep herself awake, Nanami headed for the bathroom. She began to wash her face when Mizuki opened the door.

"Nanami-chan~" He called. "Sorry for barging in, but you do remember our date today, right~?"

Nanami paused. Date? Today?

--------

Friday evening, 5:39 pm

"Nanami-chan! Are you happy that you finally completed your midterms?" Mizuki asked, sitting on his white snake as Nanami, Tomoe, and he headed home.

"Yup, couldn't have been happier! I want to hang out and go somewhere on Sunday... Tomoe, Mizuki, are you guys willing to go to town with me?" Nanami asked, full of excitement.

"Of course! I would love to hang out with you~" Mizuki answered right away.

"Tomoe...?" Nanami said, staring at Tomoe. He wasn't listening.

"Yeah, I'm busy but you can go." Tomoe said bluntly, not paying much attention.  Nanami looked disappointed - Tomoe almost never said 'no'. Mizuki was extremely happy, knowing that the kitsune will finally stop bothering his relationship with Nanami. Mizuki was ready to be Nanami's favorite familiar.

"Well, I guess it's just us!" Mizuki said happily, speeding towards the Mikage shrine.

--------

Nanami just remembered. 'Oh no,' she thought. 'I didn't even get ready.' However, she wasn't going to disappoint Mizuki.

"Yes, of course, Mizuki! I'll be down in a few minutes!" Nanami said cheerfully. Mizuki smiled brightly and left the bathroom, closing the door.

Nanami entered a mental breakdown - how was she going to get ready in a few minutes? It's alright. She'll try her best.

She quickly finished washing her face and rushed to her room, trying to pick out a decent outfit. After 30 seconds of pondering, she picked out a baby pink cardigan with a light brown plaid skirt. She then picked out two ribbons and tied her hair into two neat braids. Wondering if Mizuki is still waiting outside, she packed her handbag as quickly as possible, trying to include all the essentials.

She wanted to say good-bye to Tomoe before leaving, but he seemed to be busy in the garden. Nanami rushed to Mizuki and apologized for making him wait. Mizuki was wearing his yellow haori as usual.

"Let's go!" Mizuki said, starting the moment he checked that Nanami was on his white snake with him. Nanami giggled at the autumn breeze, and Mizuki couldn't have been happier to watch her smile.

Nanami and Mizuki arrived in town, which was busy with people.

"I guess there are a lot of people since it's Sunday..." Nanami remarked, surprised by the crowd.

"It's okay~ I'm just happy to be with you, Nanami-chan!" Mizuki replied, smiling at Nanami. Nanami smiled back, thinking, 'Mizuki is always so sweet.'

Mizuki wanted to hold Nanami's hand, but wondered if it would be uncomfortable for Nanami. He slightly rested his hands on both sides of Nanami's shoulder, and led her to a tiny vintage store. Nanami's eyes widened.

"Mizuki!! These are so cute! Look at the clothes, and the headband!" Nanami broke free from Mizuki's grip and hurried into the store, mesmerized by the adorable objects. Mizuki was delighted to know that Nanami liked his choice. Mizuki waited outside until Nanami exited the store with three shopping bags on both sides. Mizuki took all three bags and rested it on top of his white snake, making sure to balance it.

Nanami was wondering where to go next, when she saw a strangely familiar figure approaching both of them. It was beautiful, tall, white ... TOMOE???

Tomoe stood in front of Nanami and Mizuki, looking crossed.

"Nanami," Tomoe said, looking directly at Nanami. "Why was I uninformed of this event?" Tomoe glared at Mizuki. Mizuki looked annoyed. 'Why is that fox everywhere?' He thought.

"Tomoe...? Why- how are you here?" Nanami asked, blushing.

"I saw that you two were both missing from the shrine, so I ordered my fox fires to find you guys to see you having fun in town." Tomoe remarked, rolling his eyes.

"Tomoe, I tried to tell you on Friday, but-" Nanami was unable to continue her sentence. Tomoe embraced Nanami in his arms, and whispered, "Please don't leave me like that. As my lady and mistress, you should be within my protection at all times. I was worried sick."

Mizuki stood there awkwardly, watching Nanami blush. Mizuki sent an angry glare to Tomoe and headed home with his white snake.

Nanami was delighted to see Tomoe in his human form, and he looked beautiful as always. She promised to always tell Tomoe her whereabouts. Tomoe smiled, looking at Nanami with a warm stare.

Tomoe took Nanami's hand, kissed it, and held it in his palm the entire walk home.
