It's been close to 4 months since (Y/n) had passed Final Selection, she got her Nichirin sword 2 weeks after Final Selection. And boy, was that a great day for her and her brother.

~Backstory~

They were sitting down in his mansion when her swordsmith came in with her sword. (Y/n)'s Swordsmith called himself Honjo Masamune. The one thing that stood out to her about her swordsmith was the clown mask he was wearing. It looked like the mask was winking with it's mouth open to the side.

Honjo Masamune: "Ah. Miss (Y/n) Rengoku. It's a pleasure. I got your request on what you wanted for you sword. I have to say, that was quite an interesting request."

(Y/n): "S-Sorry."

Honjo Masamune: "No. No, it's quite alright. I got to do something new with a Nichirin sword. And I really love how it turned out. Now, let's open it up."

After (Y/n) got the ok to unbox her sword, she grabbed it and unwrapped it from the cloth that was around it. As she took it out, she noticed the handle had a dark purple and lavender design. She found it very pretty.

Honjo Masamune: "Don't hesitate to unsheathe it. Nichirin swords have another name, Color Changing Katana's. The sword will change color based on their swordsmen talent."

(Y/n) was shocked to hear this. Her brother never mentioned anything. She gave him a slight scowl. He shakily chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. She rolled her eyes and hesitantly unsheathed her sword. It looked like a regular sword. She held it up straight as she looked at how well the sword was made.

Before she could say anything, she felt something weird. She looked down at the base of the sword and saw it begin to change into a violet and lavender color with a dark purple tip.

Kyojuro: "Purple. That's something I never would have guessed."

Honjo Masamune: "What a beautiful color. Since you are part of the Rengoku family, I figured your sword would turn the color as your brother's."

(Y/n) tilted her head and looked at her brother.

(Y/n): "What color is your sword Kyojuro?"

He chuckled and unsheathed his sword.

Kyojuro: "Mine is a red orange with grey."

(Y/n) nodded in understanding. She then looked back at her sword.

Honjo Masamune: "Well... What are you waiting for? Try using it and see the change I put on your sword, per your request."

(Y/n)'s face lit up as she ran outside toward her brother's personal training ground. Her brother and Masamune followed her. She held her sword out in front of her. She was kind of confused on how to activate it. She turned toward her swordsmith.

(Y/n): "Do I use a breath?"

Honjo Masamune: "Yes. In order to activate it, you use a breath, but when it get's more familiar with your fighting style, it activate anytime you want."
