Bag slung over her shoulder, Crystal exited the auditorium.

The door closed behind her and she sighed in relief, having just finished her least favorite class for the week. Now, with a small smile that seemed permanently etched onto her face, she left the building, gaze instinctually steering towards one of the benches that was placed by the sidewalk. As expected, a girl was sat on it. Smile wide, Crystal skipped over to it, stopping in front of the bench and looking down.

"Hi, Gi!" she greeted happily with a small wave.

Gigi, previously emersed in her phone, looked up, resting face quickly turning up at the corners. She turned her phone off and stood, grabbing Crystal's hand and entwining their fingers together.

"Hey, babe! How was class?" she asked, interested, though she already knew the answer.

Crystal rolled her eyes and huffed.

"Ugh, the same as always. It's the worst. Can't wait to be done with it."

Gigi smiled and nodded like she did every time Crystal answered with that response.

"Ready to go home?" Gigi asked, though the two already started walking in the general direction.

"More than I've ever been ready to do anything," Crystal sighed, dramatic. Gigi smiled and rolled her eyes fondly.

The two had only been dating for about a year, but everything seemed so perfect. Their lives melded perfectly together, and neither could imagine living without the other's presence. It was all so natural, like the world had personally hand-picked them for each other.

They had first met when they learned they would be sharing an apartment with mutual friends. Jackie and Jaida, Crystal's friends first, and Nicky, Gigi's friend first, were getting an apartment together off campus, and had invited Crystal and Gigi to stay with them. Since first moving in, everything clicked right into place.

Talking about nonsense, locked hands swinging idly between them, Crystal couldn't have felt more content. Though, the moment she thought that, a strange feeling bubbled in her gut. Almost like butterflies in her stomach; a tingling. The sensation reached up to the top of her head and down to her lower back, catching her off guard and freezing her. She paused in her steps, arm still being pulled by the unsuspecting Gigi.

Noticing her freezing, Gigi stopped walking and turned around, still holding Crystal's hand. She furrowed her eyebrows at Crystal's confused face.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" she questioned, stepping closer as to stand directly in front of Crystal, looking at her face to gauge what was wrong.

Crystal didn't meet her eyes, instead deciding that a rock on the ground was very interesting.

She had felt this feeling before, the strange sense of tingling numbness that took over every now and then. However, in the past few days, it had started to happen more often. Sometimes it occured every twenty minutes, whereas before they were days, or even weeks, apart.

She shook her head, clearing her mind.

"It's nothing," she said, looking to Gigi. "I thought I forgot my phone back in the auditorium, but I remember; it's in my bag."
