Alexander! Eliza called from the living room, you have a letter from South Carolina!
Alex's POV
It's from John Laurens! I'll read it later I called back until I turned to see Eliza staring at me from the door way. No.... it's not, it's from his father, At the time I was so concentrated on my work that I asked Eliza to read it to me and thats exactly what she did."On Tuesday the 27th Lieutenant Colonel John Laurens was killed in a gun fight against British troops in South Carolina".
Eliza continued to read through the letter as memories of John flashed through my head, a few minutes later Eliza looked at me asking if I was okay.
I have so much work to do I responded and I left to my room.
When I finally reached it I fell to the floor refusing to hold back my tears, hoping that John was still alive, wishing it was all a bad dream! Regretting not helping him in the battle.
I sat there for hours hugging Johns letters, wanting to find a way to go back and relive my time with John, with everyone. I wanted to find a way to change his fate.
So that's exactly what I did.
After many attempts I finally did it, I created a device that would turn back time so I could see him.
Without thinking I pressed the button and everything went dark.
