It was back in seventh grade on Valentine's Day when twelve year old Billie Jacobo wrote her very first love letter to the cutest boy in the whole school. That boy was Calum Appleton. Just about every girl in the same grade had a crush on him too but Billie felt like him and her were meant to be. No one else could have him but her.

She was a small shy child and didn't have many friends. Only one stuck by her side but sadly she wasn't there on love day because the poor girl came down with the flu.

Love songs played on the radio that was placed on the teacher's desk, red heart shaped balloons decorated the room, confetti and candy bags were scattered on each student's desk as each one was occupied with something.

A bully named August returned from the bathroom, entered the classroom and found Billie scribbling down on a piece of paper which sat next to a red envelope with the words To: Calum on the front of it.

Coming up with an idea, the boy snatched the paper from off the desk smiling down Billie who almost jumped out of her seat, reaching for it. "Give it back, August!"

"Ooohh what are you writing? Is this a love letter?" August teased, holding the letter high up in the sky while reading every single word.

"Please just give it back! That's private!" Billie cries as everyone abruptly stopped what they were doing and watched them.

Calum stood up from the desk way in the front when his best friend called him over to witness what he was reading. Billie thought she would die right there on the spot.

"Please don't! Give it back!" She was pushed to the floor when she almost took the paper from the bully's hand.

Their teacher was standing outside in the hall discussing things with another teacher about something personal in her life while her class chanted for Calum to read the letter out loud.

Calum, the freckled face brown eyed boy that rocked a short dark brown haircut took the letter from August and silently began reading it to himself.

August took the letter back and then read it to his classmates.

Billie crawled in a corner and covered her ears with both palms, squeezing her eyes shut as everyone but Calum laughed and pointed at her when August finished reading.

The teacher hurried inside and scolded the kids, silencing them instantly. She then helped the crying child out of the corner and told her everything would be alright.

August and his friends sat back down in their seats laughing while Calum asked to be excused from the room. The teacher said he could.

Billie's heart broke when she saw her crush walking out the door tossing what looks like her love letter in the trash bin.

As soon as school was dismissed, Billie had cried all the way home.
