2025. That was the year.
Manon Grace Wright stood in front of the glass door of her home in Norfolk, overlooking the yard where snow began to melt and her friends and family all played around.
Manon had moved to Los Angeles in early 2020, 5 years beforehand, with her sister Aurelie and best friend Madeleine 'Maddy'. From there she met Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams. In 2021, she met Sam Golbach and Colby Brock.
In 2022, everyone except Taylor moved to Las Vegas.
Her had Sam had started dating in 2023. Quickly, they'd become the world's 'It Couple'. Sam was a famous YouTuber and Manon a singer and actress. She was glad to say she wouldn't have it any other way.
There was a chill in the air. Laughter filled the air, including from next door, where Manon knew the Prince and Princess of Wales lived with their kids.
"Manon!" Sam called, waving to her. She smiled as they met eyes. "Why don't you come out?"
"Because, someone has to keep an eye on the hot chocolate!" She yelled back, laughing.
On those words, the group began to come back inside. Manon smiled at Sam, ruffling his hair that was dusted with snow.
"Hot chocolate?"
Manon smiled at Travis, Taylor's boyfriend since 2023. They'd become another one of the 'it' couples of the USA, and since Manon saw Taylor as her sister, Travis had become like a brother. "Yeah, on the bench there."
He saluted her and grabbed a cup, giving another to Taylor.
Manon handed Sam a cup with a smile, laughing as he pulled her to his side.
They'd decided on New Year's Day to move to Norfolk together. It was a big decision but they decided to stick to it. In March, they would officially be living full-time in Norfolk.
Aurelie and Colby had made the same decision. Aurelie had a home about three streets away from Manon's and that would be where they lived.
Gracie was moving in with Taylor, and Maddy was moving in with her brother, Andre.
"Everything is changing," Manon spoke softly. She'd always had that, a soft voice.
"But maybe not forever," Sam whispered back. She smiled, leaning against him.
