A SMILE GRACED MANON'S FACE AS SHE SAW HER PARENTS' CAR PULL UP. She'd missed them dearly.
"Mama, Papa!" She yelled, waving happily. Genevieve squealed and pulled her daughter into a hug.
"How are you?" Genevieve asked, pulling away to study her daughter. "And how is the renovations?"
Manon smiled. Her and Sam's final step before moving in next week was renovations - which were finally finished. "We finished! I love it so much."
"Hi!" Sam waved as he came out, shaking James' hand and accepting the embrace from Genevieve.
"How are you?" Genevieve asked him, smiling.
"I'm alright," he replied. "Come on in!"
Manon sat at the table with her mother, both of them talking. James and Sam were upstairs.
"So," Genevieve grinned. "Anything new?"
"Oh my god!" Manon gasped. "Maman, no!"
"I was just asking!" Genevieve raised her hands. "But...what if it does happen?"
Manon drummed her fingers against the table. "We've discussed this. If it happens, it happens. And if it doesn't? Life goes on."
