ZANEIn the car, I took out my phone and began documenting the new information in my private blog. My memory isn't the best, so I need to record details to remind myself later.
"Let's exchange information," she said as we drove towards our destination.
"Alright."
"So far, what has my Big Sis told you?" she asked.
"She told me that John Zamora is thirty-three years old. He's one of their agents who went on leave when his wife gave birth a month ago," I replied, reading from my phone.
From her bag, she retrieved a small teal notebook and a pen. "What else?" she asked, her fingers poised to write.
"His wife was the last person to see him alive at eight o'clock last night. John told her he had somewhere important to go," I continued. "His body was found at dawn by the river near Leveriza Street."
"Leveriza Street," she whispered, writing it down.
"Your sister also mentioned that the police found no alcohol in his system," I continued. "Drowning wasn't the cause of death."
"Uh-huh," she said, meeting my gaze. "And what did your friend tell you earlier?"
"Things that confused me," I admitted. "Anyway, before that, I visited his wife."
She frowned. "You might eventually understand what I do."
"Actually, it was your sister. She instructed me to visit the wife," I explained.
Her serious expression melted into laughter. "I knew it," she said. "But alright, let's get back to my question."
"John's wife?"
"Obviously," she replied sarcastically.
I had assumed she was asking about the man at the river earlier, but apparently not.
"Well, it turns out they live separately," I explained. "I haven't seen their newborn child yet."
"We'll check that later when we get there," she said as our car stopped behind a white van. "Let's stay in the car for now. Alright, continue."
"So, your driver took me to the riverside, and that's where I found that man earlier," I said, glancing at the crowd nearby. "And you know what? There are definite differences."
"State them all."
"He said he was the one who found his friend's body. Many are asking to interview him," I replied.
A playful smile crept across her lips as she resumed writing in her notebook.
"He told me he didn't kill his friend, despite what people are saying," I added.
