The morning sun filtered through the trees, casting a warm glow on Genya and me as we woke up on the hill where we had shared our first kiss the previous night. The serenity of the surroundings matched the calm in our hearts after the intensity of our recent battles.

Genya, still a bit shy and awkward, looked over at me with a gentle smile. "Good morning. How did you sleep?"

I stretched and yawned, my eyes meeting his. "Better than I have in a long time, thanks to you."

Genya blushed at my words and looked away. "So... how about some breakfast?" he asked, glancing over at two plates of rice balls and fruits.

'Where did those plates come from?'

I looked at the plates and then back to Genya. "Did you prepare that?" I asked, stunned by his work.

"Yeah, I did when you were still asleep." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

'That's so sweet of him.'

I hugged him and thanked him.

Genya and I settled down to enjoy the breakfast he had prepared. The simplicity of the meal made it all the more special, and we ate in companionable silence, occasionally exchanging shy smiles. He sure was a good guy, a bit shy but cute.

After breakfast, we decided to walk to the forest to train a bit, keeping the exercises light to avoid aggravating our wounds. We sparred gently, laughing and teasing each other as we practiced our moves. Genya's skills were impressive, and his determination was inspiring.

"You're getting better," I noted, dodging one of his attacks gracefully.

Genya blushed but looked pleased. "I have a good teacher after all," he replied, his shyness momentarily forgotten in the joy of the moment.

As we continued, our movements became more synchronized, a testament to the bond we were forging. We often took breaks to catch our breath, and when we did, we just looked at each other. I couldn't help but notice his beauty. He wasn't just a nice guy but also very good-looking. I didn't understand how anyone could talk badly about him. I never understood. As our eyes met, I looked away quickly.

"Alright, let's continue, shall we?" I said with a smirk.

"Sure, let's go," Genya replied, grabbing his wooden sword from the ground.

Time passed, and we were exhausted from the small battle between the two of us. As we lay on the grass, catching our breath and watching the clouds drift by, I decided to ask a question that had been on my mind for a while.

"Genya," I began hesitantly, "can I ask you something personal?"

He turned to me, curiosity and a hint of apprehension in his eyes. "Sure, what is it?"

I took a deep breath. "What's your relationship like with your big brother, Sanemi?"

Genya's expression shifted, a mix of pain and longing crossing his face. "Sanemi..." He hesitated for a moment.

I noticed the pain in his eyes. "You don't have to talk about it, Genya... It's just that I..."

"No, it's alright, Y/N."

I nodded, now quiet, encouraging him to continue.

"Well... Of course, we are siblings, but he doesn't see me as his brother anymore... Not after what happened. He doesn't want me around at all." He looked down at the ground.

"He's been through so much, and sometimes it's hard for him to express his feelings. It's my fault. I just wish... we could be closer, like we were when we were kids." Tears began to form in Genya's eyes.

I reached out and took his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I'm sure he loves you, Genya. Maybe there's a reason he's afraid to tell you about. You're not at fault at all. You were still kids. One day, everything will be fine again." I said while wiping away Genya's tears. Genya had already told me about his past before, and he thought that all of this was his fault. Seeing him like this made me sad, and I couldn't stand the fact that he thought he was at fault. Both of them were small kids, and he didn't understand back then.

Genya gave a small, grateful smile. "Thanks, Y/N. That means a lot coming from you."

We lay there in silence for a while, the bond between us growing stronger with each passing moment. I held my hand out for his. My hand slowly touched his, and we bonded together. I enjoyed every moment I could spend with him. Slowly, I began to close my eyes and breathe in the fresh air of the forest. I heard Genya's slow and relaxed breathing, making me smile. It felt good being with someone I could trust. We understood each other like we had known each other from the beginning. Genya was made for me; I was made for Genya.

Genya turned to me, his expression serious. I was still lying next to him with my eyes closed.

"I meant what I said last night," he began softly. I opened my eyes, now looking at him too. "I love you, Y/N. I want to be with you, no matter what happens," he continued, his nervousness written on his face.

He looked so cute. My heart swelled with emotion. "I love you too, Genya. I'm glad you're here with me."

Genya sat up and offered his hand to me. I took it, and he pulled me closer to him. My face turned red, and I was completely shy after his movement. Little did I know that Genya was the one who struggled the most. I just couldn't see his red face because I was hiding my own in his chest. I felt his fast heartbeat and the warmth of his body. After some moments, I began to relax, and I felt him relax too. He wrapped his arms around me slowly, trying to be as respectful as possible.

"Thank you for listening to me, Y/N," he said, brushing his fingers through my hair. He felt comfortable enough to talk about his insecurities and fears with me.

As the afternoon sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the forest, we knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, we would face them side by side, our love a guiding light in the darkness.

(short chapter but I don't know if I should make a time skip somewhere till they've grown older. Might be easier to write more chapters about their relationship and personal stuff)
