The Darkness Lurks

Tsunade bites her nail in frustration as she along with Shizune stood in the darkness. The council has gathered due to Danzo's request, as per usual. This time, a meeting was held to discuss the  failure of team seven's latest reconnaissance mission. 

But their chosen victim wasn't Naruto, Sakura, Sai or Yamato. It was Takashi who stood amongst all the elders, there in the darkness all alone. Takashi was judged and berated the moment Danzo could pester the young shinobi. There was no justice in the current court, and it drove both Tsunade and Shizune insane.  

Takashi kept his composure calm and professional while just beneath the surface, he was cursing the living shit out of Danzo and his followers. Team seven failing their latest mission has nothing to do with the real reason as to why Danzo gathered his supporters. Danzo who has been wanting Takashi to serve as his weapon just now finds a valid point to berate the young Senju. 

"You have failed to reprimand Uchiha Sasuke, yet again." Danzo started as he was confident. "You have failed once, and now twice."

"Knowing your capabilities and records so far, we begin to suspect something amiss." Mitokado Homura raised his voice accompanied by piles of Takashi's duty records. "Not counting your newest mistake, your records has been nearly perfection young man. You are shy away to exceeded even your ancestors. But according to your recent performance and behavior, you have been nothing but a mess."

"You've shown a remarkable potential in your Chūnin Exam. . . you have both talents and skills, but you lack disciplinary. I assure you, it won't be something you lack had you follow me." Danzo look down on Takashi. "You would've made your great grandfather proud. A shame isn't it?"

"With all due respect, Takashi was only a backup team I sent at the very last second. Us not having Sasuke back is not Takashi's fault." Tsunade comes to defend, but Takashi merely raised his hand to stopped her. 

"You suspecting something amiss is only logical, please understand that I. . . I see where you are coming from." Takashi finally said something. "Disciplinary is not the problem either, I assure you."

"The real reason as to why I let go of Uchiha Sasuke will greatly benefit our nation." Takashi confessed, seizing all interest even from Danzo. "Because given just a bit more time. . . Sasuke will then kill his older brother for us. Sasuke said this himself." 

Danzo's winning expression changed and was replace by anger. Takashi is a slippery target he must admit. Every time Danzo thought he has cornered him, the young Senju always have something in his sleeves.

"And when that time comes, I will track Sasuke down as he is fresh out of his vengeance. It will be the perfect time. He will be greatly weakened, and he will be all yours to torment. Exciting plan is not? You won't have to worry about him lashing under your nail either, he will be too weak by then." Takashi offers and he won over the other council member just like that. 

"Ah so you do have your own calculation. . ." hummed Utatane Koharu.

"Of course I do! Who do you take me for?" Takashi questioned back with a winning smile. "I am your finest shinobi today not for nothing, right? In the meantime however, let me win us more allies. Do not worry, I'm fine doing it all by myself." 

"Yes, the resources from the Land of Tea has arrived this morning. They have been generous too, if I may add." Quip Shizune, strengthening Takashi's point. 

"Then I suppose we will be waiting for reports from you. You are dismissed, don't be tardy with your papers." Said Danzo begrudgingly as he was quick to leave.
