*As usual has not been proof read other than a quick go over. Ive been working through how exactly I wanted this chapter to play out and I've change it a million times. I hope you enjoy it. I kind of feel like everyone might have been waiting for this!    Also incase this wasn't clear, but everything in this fiction wont always fit the storyline in the show perfectly.*

"Kara… Kara sweetheart wake up." I was pulled from my sleep by Dekes quiet whispers.

"Hmm? " I mumbled, not ready to wake up. "Whyyyyy?"

"Im heading in baby, Kevin is still picking you up today right?" I nodded my head before rolling onto my side to check the time. 5 am? Right its been a few months since the quake and the hotel is finally reopening today. Thank god too cause I've been going crazy being home or just at SWAT. I mean I've been shopping with Kevin and his boyfriend but still. A girl needs to work.

"Wait. Why are you going in so early? Everything okay?" I panicked. I don't know why but over the last week, I've been more worried about Deke and my brother. Im sure its just because of everything with he who shall not be named. But I don't need to worry, not with everyone watching my back.

"Everythings fine doll. Promise just putting in extra hours in the armory to help out. I'll try to swing by with lunch or something later on." I smiled. Hes been nervous about me going back to work, but he hasn't said anything. I know he just doesn't want me to be out in the open with that trash out roaming. 

But I've decided I'm not afraid anymore. Over the last few months training with Deacon and the rest of the team I've gotten so so much better at self defense.

"Id love that and I know Kevin would too." I laughed wiggling my eyebrows. Both Deke and Kevin have gotten to know eachother better over the last few weeks while Kevin has been over to hang out or to take me shopping. Between Deacon and Jim, I've not really been out alone. "But um…. Kevin isn't picking me up today. I decided to actually drive myself." I said sitting up and flipping on the bedside lamp.

"Baby.. We-"

"I know we said I would always be with someone else Deacon, but I'm so tired of not driving or having to be with someone when I need time ya know. Im done letting him control our lives. I love you. I love how much you want to keep me safe, but I need to get back to normal my love." I sighed before kissing his cheek. "Besides its been a couple months and no contact at all. I think we will be just fine." I tried reassuring him.

"Okay." He said flatly. "But, if anything and I mean anything Kara. If anything seem out of normal or wrong you call me or your brother. Deal?" He said holding his pinky up infront of me. I wrapped my own around his and nodded. He leaned in and kissed me with enough passion is be swimming for hours before pulling back and leaving for his day.

I laid back for a little longer before getting up to get myself ready. I made a cup of coffee before heading outside and pulling the cover off my car. The drive was smoother than I remembered which helped me relax even more and I can not explain how happy I was pulling into my space infront of the hotel.

Walking in a few of the girls were around the desk laughing at Kevin who was perched on top of it making some sort of joke. As the door slid shut everyone looked over and Kevin hoped down to stand at attention only relaxing when he saw it was me.

"Well good morning to you our beautiful boss lady! Did Mr tall and fine drop you off and not even come tell little old me hello?" he scoffed while pretending to be hurt. I laughed finally taking a sip of my coffee. I turned my nose up running over to the staff room to spit it out. "You good miss thing?" I dumped the rest of the code down the sink and rinsed it out.

"Yea I'm fine, I think our creamer was bad." I sighed. "How are things looking so far? Any bookings yet?" I asked looping my arm around his.

"Of course, we're gotten a handful actually checking in around 3! Also theres an interview for a gentleman with you later on for the housekeeper position. Thats at noon love." I smiled nodding my head as he went on. Kevin has taken to going over our days more than anything lately. Says its so we can hang as much as possible. I think its just to catch a view of Deke though.
