Vedika's PoV
I was shocked to see him at this hour; he was still in his office clothes, looking tired but composed. I guess he had just returned.
"Vedika, what happened?" he asked again, his voice pulling me back to reality.
How was I going to tell him that I needed to buy pads?
"No... nothing, just going out for a walk," I said, trying to make an excuse.
"It's very late. You shouldn't go outside right now. Go and sleep," he said sternly, though I could sense a tiny bit of concern in his tone.
"No, I am not feeling sleepy. I need to... ahh!" I screamed as my stomach cramped suddenly.
"What happened, Vedika? Are you okay? Why did you scream? Should I call a doctor?" he asked, his voice filled with worry as he walked towards me.
The pain in my stomach was intense. I could barely stand, but sitting down would cause stains.
"Vedika, sit down," he said, trying to guide me to a chair, but I refused.
"No, I can't sit," I said.
"Why? You look really sick. I should definitely call the doctor," he said, now more worried.
"No, I am fine. No doctor," I insisted.
"Yeah, you're fine, and I'm the Prime Minister of India," he retorted sarcastically.
He was about to dial the doctor's number when I grabbed his hand.
"I am on my period," I whispered so softly that he could barely hear me.
"Sorry, what?" he asked, leaning closer.
"I'm on my period and was going out to buy sanitary napkins and painkillers because I have none," I said, blushing profusely and staring down at the floor, too shy to meet his eyes.
"Oh," he responded, his cheeks and ears turning slightly red. Was he blushing?
"Vedika, you go to your room. I will get them for you," he said, leaving me stunned.
"No, no, you don't have to do it. I will get it," I protested.
"It's late, and you are sick. I can't let you go alone at this time," he insisted.
He was right. It was very late and unsafe for me to go outside, and I could barely stand because of the stomach ache.
"Do you need anything else?" he asked before leaving.
"No," I replied.
After almost thirty minutes, I heard a knock at my door and knew it was Advay.
I opened the door to see him standing with several bags in his hands.
"Here," he said, handing me one packet. I opened it to find a variety of sanitary napkins of different brands and sizes.
"These are so many. I didn't need this much," I said, a bit overwhelmed.
"Actually, I didn't know which brand you preferred, so I bought all of them," he said, scratching his eyebrows, looking adorably awkward.
A smile graced my lips. "Thank you so much," I said, touched by his thoughtfulness.
"Now go and quickly freshen up," he instructed.
I nodded and immediately went to the washroom. When I came out, he was still there in my room.
