Leah's POV:
I woke up in my bed, not too sure how I got here but I'm not complaining. It's around 7 am when my alarm goes off. I check my phone and see a photo sent from Dior. It's from last night. I click on the picture and see a photo of Walker carrying me to bed after I obviously fell asleep at Diors'. He's looking down at me in his arms. I save the photo on my phone before rolling out of bed. My SUV is leaving around 8 because I won't be needed til around 12. I do believe Aryan, Daniel and Walker. Dior and I are heading there together. I take a quick shower and eat some toast before heading out. Dior is waiting for me with a matcha latte in hand for me.
"Goodmorning Leah!" She says beaming at me.
"Goodmorning Di!"
"Excited for our second day shooting?"
"You know it! Also I got that photo from last night. Haha. Why didn't you guys just wake me up?" I ask her, laughing.
"You don't think we tried? I was ready to dump water on you. Though I'm not that mean." It's true. Dior wouldn't do that. If I was with Aryan and Walker on the other hand? Completely different story. "The photo's cute though, right?" She asks.
"Yeah I guess." It's a really cute photo.
I send Walker a quick text
Goodmorning Walker! Thanks for bringing me to bed last night haha<3
Maybe the heart was too much. Whatever.
Of course Leah. See you soon! He sends back. I smile and shut off my phone.
"Walker?" Dior assumes trying to ask who I'm talking to on my phone.
"Yeah, just saying thanks for last night."
"He's a strong guy for a dude with twiggy arms. Thought maybe we'd carry you together but he picked you up with so much ease." I blush slightly at the idea of Walker picking me up. It sounds romantic.
Once we get into wardrobe and makeup I feel two bodies crawl up behind me. "BOO" Aryan and Walker scream trying to scare me. I laugh out loud at their idiocracy.
"You guys are lame as hell." I poke Aryan's prosthetic horns on his head.
"Hey! Leave my horns alone lady."
"I brought you a Choco chip muffin in case you were hungry Lee." He says handing me the most delicious looking breakfast ever.
"Oh Walker, I love you. This is exactly what I needed." Maroon blush quickly spreads from his cheeks down to his neck but he just smiles at me. I look over at Aryan who's raising an eyebrow at us.
"Want some?" I offer Aryan lifting my muffin up towards him.
Fast forward a few weeks later.
It's officially September 20th and our moms are trailing behind us in the airport. We're heading to Banff and I couldn't be more excited. We're staying at the infamous Banff Springs Hotel, it's not only famous for their beautiful hot tub, but also for all the chilling haunting stories revolving around it. Walker and I will definitely be ghost hunting tonight. We sat by the gate telling each other the haunting stories.
"No Walker, she died because she was on fire, not because she fell down the stairs."
"How did she die that fast if there were so many people around? They couldn't have poured water on her?"
"Well to be fair there's a ton of fabric on a wedding dress. Maybe the whole thing happened too fast. And I think the carpet might've caught on fire making it harder for them to get to her."
"That's so sad. Imagine being her fiancé? Waiting for your beautiful wife to walk down and watching that whole thing happen? I'd haunt the damn place too." I nod along with him. It's not the only story about the hotel but it's the one that chills me down to the bone. (A/N my haunted Canada lore getting put to use!)
"Zone two please have your boarding passes ready" The flight attendant announces.
The four of us get our carry-ons ready and head onto the plane.
"Nervous? I know you hate flying" I ask him.
"With you and my mom? On an hour-long flight? This will be a breeze!" He exclaims confidently.
We spent the hour-long flight splitting his airpods. We talk the entire time about the things we want to see in Banff, and speaking whatever comes to mind. The next song comes on, Daylight by Taylor Swift.
"I love this song so much." I'm not a huge Taylor fan but this song does something to me.
I don't want to look at anything else now that I saw you.
I look over at Walker and he looks nervous as hell for this descent.
I've been sleeping so long in a twenty year dark night
And now I see daylight
I take Walkers' hand into my hand trying to calm him down. This is his least favourite part.
I once believed love would be black and white.. But it's golden.
I give his hand three squeezes right before the plane hits the ground.
We step out into the YYC airport and head to the tour shuttles that will be taking us to Banff. I believe the ride is longer than the flight. I take the window seat and Walker and I resume our chatter. Driving the long winding roads we get to see the beautiful scenery. Mountains, and mountains. It's gorgeous. It's around 7pm and the sun is slowly setting. The sunset behind the mountains is absolutely unmatched. I take maybe 600 hundred photos.
"It's so beautiful."
"It really really is." I look up at him and he smiles back down at me. He's just as beautiful as the scene outside.
We reach Banff and I'm already in love. Most of the shops are closed by now since it's around 9pm now. The streets are gorgeous, the entire town has a cabin-like feel. Everything is wood or brick and paired with the street lamps shining down gives the whole place a magical feel. My mom took a few photos. I'm looking over the photos after my mom had sent them all to me. There's this one photo of us jumping and clicking our heels at the same time and it's just overall a great photo. I set it as my background on my phone.
We enter this castle looking hotel and are greeted with a beautiful lobby. Our moms take our bags up to our jack-jill like rooms that connect through a door, while Walker and I take the stairs. We wanted to see if we could feel the presence of the ghost bride. Finally reaching the fourth flour, we realize this was not in fact the staircase the bride had tripped down.
Our moms head down to the bar and Walker and I change into our swimsuits to head down to the outdoor pool. Before I can even put our towels down, I hear a big splash and see Walker already fully submersed. Personally, I don't cannonball. I make my way down to the pool steps before Walker complains that I'm taking too slow. He literally picks me up and tosses me into the pool.
"I'm gonna kill you." I say when I break through the surface of the water. We're looking at a beautiful view with evergreen trees and mountains.
"Yeah but no one could replace me as Percy."
"We'll just ask Logan Lerman to come back." I laugh. He just splashes me in response. For a Friday night, this place is dead as hell. We're the only ones here except for a small family of four who are hanging around the shallow end. I don't think I'd rather be anywhere else with anyone else for my birthday.
A/N is this really a slow burn? or just a mutual pining that will last forever :)
