You sighed in disappointment, your legs moving on their own, taking you to wherever they desired.

"Such an idiot." You told yourself, kicking a rock nearby.

You never thought you would fuck up a friendship in this sort of way. It was a stupid way to get into an argument with your friend, but then again, you've done a lot of idiotic things in the past.

"Oof-!"

You felt yourself fall to the ground, your back meeting the rough ground.

"Sorry!"

The sound of papers scattering across the street caused you to open your eyes. Blinking a couple of times, your shoulders tensed up as a man extended his hand.

Cautiously taking it, you were pulled back up, dusting off the dirt off your pants.

"Hamilton, Alexander Hamilton." The man, Hamilton, introduced himself. He stuck out his hand for a handshake, a smile painted on his face.

"Torres," you returned the handshake. "(Y/N) Torres."

"Torres?" He tilted his head, the last name seemed familiar to him.

"My parents died."

"Oh..."

Crickets chirped as the sun slowly began to set. A rush of cool air welcomed you, almost whispering secrets that it had picked up along the way.

"You're an orphan as well?" Alexander said, almost too excitedly.

"Is that... a good thing?" You couldn't help but ask. Why would anyone be excited to meet another person who was an orphan?

"Of course, I'm an orphan! Seems like we have something in common."

Suddenly, it hit you. Well, literally, a pebble hit the back of your head.

"God damnit!" You groaned. Alexander only chuckled at your frustration.

"It's nice talking to someone who you can relate to." He happened to forget about the stack of papers he was supposed to take to the general.

"Uh..."

"No wonder your name sounds so familiar!" He snapped his fingers. "The Green Mountain Boys, yeah? I never thought I'd see one in person!" He spoke as if he had seen a new and exotic creature for the first time.

"Yeah—um... your papers."

"What 'bout them?"

You gestured for Hamilton to turn around, which he did. His eyes widened, his lips slightly parting in shock.

"You might have to rewrite all of that.."

He took a deep breath, shaking his head. "I'll get it done by tonight."

"What—?"

And he ran off.
