John Phillips a man who actually made Isabelle's skin shiver every time he spoke. His voice was deep and husky...and pure evil. She had never come across a vampire in this town before.. But even the town had secrets. "Isabelle! Stop looking at John! It's rude." Sarah interjected from the kitchen.
"So how do you know my mother?"
"Ah, I work with her you see. At the hospital we have similar shifts."
"Best way to get something to eat I'm guessing?"
"No that's not true. I want to help people not kill them. Not like you anyway." Isabelle was shocked he knew all about her and she knew nothing about him.
"Don't say anything to my parents. They already hate me for what I am."
"They know?"
"Yeah I told them. They knew something was up and I had to confess."
"Do you know what could happen if other people found out? News spreads around this town fast! Believe me! It's happened once or twice to me before."
"They won't say anything! I trust them."
"Your mother doesn't like what you are. What's to stop her from saying to people?"
"She wouldn't do that."
"Who knows? She might.. And the only way is too compel her and your father."
No! I want them to know the truth." Isabelle said quietly. Sarah walked into the living room with a tray full of coffee and tea.
"Here we go. Nice hot cups of tea and coffee." Sarah smiled as she handed John his cup and Isabelle her cup. Isabelle's dad was standing in the kitchen. Isabelle placed her cup down on the table in front of her got up and walked to her father. He was standing motionless staring into the dark garden.
"Are you alright Dad?"
"I'm fine."
"Dad?" Isabelle looked to her dad.
"I don't trust that guy. He seems suspicious." Isabelle turned both taps on so the water hit the metal sink. Isabelle's dad looked at her with a confused look, Isabelle pointed to her ear and then put her finger to her lips. Isabelle's dad nodded in agreement while Isabelle smiled.
"He's a vampire. John Phillips, one of the vampires from 1913." Isabelle whispered.
"What? Are you serious?" Isabelle nodded.
"Mom invited him in. Which means he can enter our home whenever he wants too." Isabelle's dad looked shocked and his skin turned white. "Come on we best go in." Isabelle turned off the taps, turned on her heels and walked back into the sitting room. Isabelle's father followed her in with his cup of coffee in his hands. When they entered the room John and Sarah were in deep discussion. Most probably talking about work. Isabelle knew John had plans. But she didn't know exactly what they might of been.
"Oh look at the time." John finished the rest of his cup of tea. "I best get going. Get back to the family." He smiled. "Thank you for the coffee Sarah. See you at work tomorrow."
"Yeah see you tomorrow John." Sarah smiled and went to get up.
"No no! Mom I'll see John out." Isabelle said. Isabelle got up and followed John out. He stepped out of the door and turned round to look at her. "You leave my parents alone John."
"I will." John went to go turn around. "Oh Isabelle. I want you to have this." He handed her a bracelet.
"What is this?" Isabelle studied the bracelet which was in his hand.
