7 days had past since Isabelle's mom was found dead. 2 days ago was her mother's funeral which Isabelle couldn't go to and the police forces in Canada and America had been called off.  Isabelle sat in her room the whole weekend in silence. Her eyes were black and her body was numb. Leo tried visiting her but she wouldn't open the door. Miss Carter was getting worried each day if Isabelle didn't come out of her room soon and speak to someone. She would eventually be numb of her emotions. Miss Carter came across many vampires who turned their emotions off, they were rude, ruthless and cold killers. Their humanity was the only thing left of their old life and if that was wiped away, it was going to be hard for them to get it back.

Isabelle laid on her bed staring up at the dark ceiling. As she breathed out heavily the door opened and in came Leo. He wasn't smiling or happy like the last time she saw him. His hair was scruffy and his eyes wasn't the light green he always had. "Isabelle." He quietly said. She ignored him. "Izzy look at me." He watched her as she twisted her head and stared at him. He stared at her and he could feel nothing there. "Isabelle why haven't you been out the room all week."

"I didn't want to." She replied quietly and turned her head back to the ceiling. "Can you leave me to wallow in the darkness please."

"No I won't leave you any longer. If I have to sit here then I will."

"Leo. I don't want your help! I don't want any ones help!" Her voice was pitched now.

 "You need my help!"

"You don't get it! My mother died and it was her funeral! My dad is a vampire, somewhere in this goddamn world and it's one of those days that I don't want to smile." She stood up and screeched at him. "Leo. My mom died! I saw her die and this stupid transition has made me even more upset. I can't do this.. anymore I just can't stand it. I'm living with guilt and my head is just crammed up with it all. I-I-I can't do this." She stopped talking and started crying.

"Here, shh come here." Leo  stepped forward and engulfed her into a hug. She wrapped her arms around his torso and cried into his chest. "It's going to be okay." He held her tightly and rested his chin gently on her head. She looked up at him and he wiped the tears from her face. "Come with me."

"Where?" She said as she sobbed.

"Going to America."

"What? Why?"

"To your hometown in Pennsylvania. Let's go."

"What about Miss Carter?"

"She knows. She's the one who's letting us go. Bring a large bag, we're going to bring back some of your stuff. Now come on we have a 4 hour journey to get through." Isabelle picked up her key and held it in her hand. She grabbed a bag and they walked hand in hand to the minibus. Miss Carter handed Leo a daylight ring and he said expect them both back around 2-3 days. Isabelle sat in the corner of the minibus still clutching Leo's hand, as they drove towards Toronto International Airport.

After the long journey to Pennsylvania. Leo turned off the engine. Isabelle told him where to go and what house it was. She sat in the seat silently looking at the house. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. It just brings back memories you know. I'll be fine soon."

"Whenever you're ready to go in there. Tell me and we'll go." They sat in the car for another 5 minutes before Isabelle got out. Leo got out too and grabbed her hand when she was standing on the sidewalk. "If it gets too hard just tell me, and we'll get back in and go back. Don't be afraid to tell me. I'm here to help you." She looked at him and smiled gently. Her eyes were still black but that was because she hadn't fed in a few days. They walked up the steps and stood at the door. Isabelle touched the doorknob and opened the door. She had no clue whether she could in but she was going to try. She leaned forward and put her hand towards the threshold. Her hand went straight through and walked into the house. Leo waited outside. "Could you let me in?"
