when I smile at her
soft and sweet
she looks at me
yearning in her eyes
we walk through the road
two normal girls
who love each other
she brings her pinky closer to mine
i shake my head
she tilts her face, soft sunlight spilling on her hair
she wraps a hand around my waist and brings me close
before i gasp, i hear several groans and screams
ugly judgemental stares and cruelty
homophobia covering us in a fog
she cups my face and brings her lips closer until they are touching mine
we kiss and kiss and kiss until i pull away laughing and all i see is her and all i taste is her
we bring our foreheads together
we are covered in a dust of homophobia and curses and death
"fuck it" she whispers fiercely
"fuck it" i agree quietly
we shine and sparkle amidst the dust and let our love wrap us in a warm hug
we are finally free
