Chapter 1: Rebellious Hearts

It was currently in the middle of the night and me and my twin sister red decided to give our tyrant of a mother a present.

Dressed in my white hood while red wore a red and black hood we quickly went to work to paint the kingdom red

It's criminal how you follow the crown

I hear the sound, and it's getting loud

Our mother's guards would have caught us if it wasn't for Maddox hatter our tutor and friend and his wonderful inventions

"Maddox!" I said as Maddox shook his head

"Those guards could have dragged you both to the dungeon What on earth were you thinking?" Maddox asked

That our mom’s portrait could use a little touch-up. Red said

"I hope she likes it" I said

I am seriously worried about you two. If you continue down this path, I won’t always be there to save either of you.You know that, right? Maddox said looking at us while I shook my head

Maddox Hatter, you know you can’t save us. We are prisonersof Wonderland. I said

Yeah. We are a lost cause. Red said

As your tutor, I’m in charge of preparing you for your future.And as your friend,
I want you to have one. Maddox said

What future, Mads? We literally have the most controlling mom ever. She’s never gonna let us leave Wonderland. Red said

"I know it hasn’t been easy growing up with a mother that’s so…particular. But she wasn’t always this way." Maddox said as we gave me a look " It’s true!We’re all products of our past,
and your mother’s was certainly unfortunate."

She just wants to turn me into the next evil queen like her. And I don’t wanna be Queen. I just wanna be in charge of my own life. But what I want doesn’t matter to her. I said since the title of queen would go to me since I'm the oldest twin

"Oh Ruby...maddox said looking at me sadly before he smiled at me before speaking again "I wasn’t going to show you this…
until you were a little older,but I finished it."

Finished what? I asked as he showed us a watch

What is that? Red asked

"My time machine. It takes you to the moment in time that can give you what your heart wants most.
If you really want a different life, Ruby and red, I want you guys to have that choice." Maddox said as I went to grab the watch but was stopped by Maddox "But I should warn you, when you alter the fabric of time, there can be some unpredictable consequences."

"we can live with that" red said

"Everything could change. You could lose your mother entirely." Maddox said with a sigh as he took the watch "It’s too dangerous. Not yet. When you’re more mature. I know you girls are frustrated, but I’m trying to look out for both of you. I care about you girls very much."

"Thanks mads" we said unison

"At least someone still does" I said as I hugged him and stole the watch off him without him noticing

Search the castle! We heard Jack of diamonds say

Well, if the Queen finds out I’m harboring a fugitive, I’ll be in some serious trouble. You best get out of here girls. Maddox said as me and red smirked

"I dare you to make us." I said

As you wish, Princess. Maddox said as he is one of his many inventiona and began to suck us up a tube

What’d I say about calling me… Princess?! Said as we flew up the tube and landed in our bedroom

"Did you get it?" Red asked

"Yep" I said holding up the watch

"Should we use it now?" Red asked as Maddox warning echoed in my head

But I should warn you, you could lose your mother entirely.
