In the heart of Dr. Eggman's sprawling fortress, Sonic, Amy, Tails, Shadow, Rouge, Knuckles, and Omega fought against waves of Eggman's robotic minions. The air crackled with the energy of chaos as each member of the team unleashed their unique abilities against the relentless onslaught.

Sonic, as always, dashed through the battlefield with his trademark speed, a blur of blue and quips., "C'mon, guys! Let's show that egg head what we're made of!" His cocky grin never faltered, even in the face of danger.

Shadow, on the other hand, moved with calculated precision, his ruby eyes scanning the area for threats. He fought with a controlled ferocity, dispatching robots with swift efficiency. But amidst the chaos, his attention kept drifting towards Amy and her determined strikes with her trusty piko hammer, and unwavering loyalty to Sonic. She was always behind him making sure no enemies snuck up behind him. She was constantly defending him from various attacks from different directions while Sonic was all over the place, leaving behind enemies for Amy.

"Watch yourself, Sonic," Shadow called out sharply, his voice cutting through the noise. "You're being reckless. Think about your team." He was mostly referring to Amy.

Sonic brushed off the warning with a wave of his hand. "Relax, Shadow! I've got this!"

But Shadow couldn't relax. He knew Amy's feelings for Sonic ran deep, and seeing Sonic's carefree attitude around her stabbed at his nerves. Despite his stoic exterior, Shadow harbored a secret admiration for Amy, a desire to protect her from harm, even if it meant standing in Sonic's shadow. He had grown used to it. After all his first hug in many years was meant for Sonic. Yet, he had grown fond of the Pink hedgehog and it only augmented as he got to know her from that day in the ark. She always saw the good in him when nobody else did. Shadow appreciated that.

As the battle intensified, alarms blared throughout the base. Emergency protocols initiated, causing the fortress to begin shutting down. Metal doors clanged shut, sealing off different sections of the base.

"We need to get out of here, fast!" Tails shouted over the sirens, his voice tinged with urgency, knowing they would be stuck in a dire situation.

The team split into smaller groups, each racing against time to find an exit. Shadow, Sonic, Tails, and Amy found themselves navigating a labyrinth of corridors, their footsteps echoing against the cold metal floors.

Suddenly, Amy stumbles due to a still operating Badnik, her cry of surprise echoing through the corridor. The Badnik's mechanical grip had caught her ankle, leaving her vulnerable causing her to lose her hammer in the process.

"Amy!" Sonic's voice rang out, filled with concern as he rushed towards her.

But before Sonic could reach her the metal door was shut right before him. So much for being the fastest thing alive, Sonic thought. Luckily Shadow made it in time and immediately was by Amy's side. With a swift, calculated strike of his hand, he disabled the Badnik and freed Amy from its grasp.

Shadow crouched beside Amy, his demeanor surprisingly gentle as he helped her to her feet. "Are you hurt, Amy?"

Amy winced, clutching her ankle. "I... I think I twisted it."

"Amy, are you okay?" Sonic could be heard banging on the steel door, worry clear in his voice.

"I'm fine, Sonic!" Amy reassured him, though her strained expression betrayed her pain.

A sigh of relief could be heard coming from the other side presumably from Sonic.

"Shadow can you chaos control us out of here?" Asked Amy.
