chapter four.
it can't be over

————

Lucy couldn't figure out why she felt so weird. Something didn't feel right. She sat at Evie's vanity as the blue haired girl did her hair. Evie noticed how silent the girl had been since their arrival.

"Lu, are you okay?" Evie asked pinning a braid down on her hair.

"Yes. I'm fine." Lucy answered quickly.

"You can tell me anything, you know." Evie said finishing the girls hair. (pic above!)

"I know, E. I just...I don't know." The girl slumped as Evie put her hands on her shoulders.

"It's ok. Just whenever you're ready, I'll be here." Evie said witha  soft smile making Lucy feel a little better.

"Thank you, Evie." Lucy stood from her seat and wrapped her arms around Evie.

"Now, let's get you into that dress." Evie moved the girl to the podium and held out a gorgeous blue dress. (pic above!)

"The banner is crooked!" Lucy said pointing to the banner. She was stressed. The guests were already there and she felt like everything looked wrong.

"I'll have it fixed, Ms. Darling." The helper said quickly moving away from the angry girl.

"Our bossy daughter." She heard from from behind her. She quickly turned and all anger in her body was gone.

"Mom! Dad!" She exclaimed almost dropping her IPad. She ran and threw herself around her parents.

"Wow. No excitement for your big brother?" Lucy squealed. Her brother attended Auradon University and was ever rarely home at the same time she was.

"Nicky!" She said wrapping her arms around him.

"It looks great, Lu." Nick complimented looking around the venue.

"Really?" She said with a smile.

"Of course it does, sweetie." Her mom said making the girls smile get bigger.

"I've gotta go but please enjoy yourselves and I'll see you guys later." The girl walked to the VK's who walked in.

"Hey, guys!" The girl exclaimed giving Evie a hug before giving hugs to Jay and Carlos.

"It looks so good in here, Lu." Carlos complimented looking around.

"Thanks! It wasn't just me though. Jane helped too and speaking of her, she's waiting for you by the punch table." Lucy said with a smile looking to Jane who was already looking back at the group.

"I have to finish setting something up but enjoy the party!" Lucy said moving to the back of the ship making the sure the stained glass surprise that Ben had made for Mal was all set.

Once that was finished she made her way to the dance floor and saw people dancing. She smiled. She did a good job. Everyone was enjoying themselves. She was supposed to feel happy but a part of her still feels empty. She moved off the dance floor to the punch table.
