"Recent developments in the case against Marcus Fletcher, accused late last year of killing twenty-three women, now escalating to two more. Sources have provided information that Marcus voluntarily entered the custody of Houston Police Department just after 2pm this afternoon, to then make a deal in providing authorities the name of his partner. More at six."

𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 sweating, her hands were shaking, and her ears were ringing. The rug had been pulled and she was standing in the rubble of the bombshell that had been dropped on her. Corruption, and she was unknowingly part of it. The biological son of the head of her firm was an accomplice, a murderer, and Abbie had been instructed to pin it on another. How far did the poison stem? Did Liz know? Was that the true reason for her abduction? Was Liz also a part of this? Her brows knitted together as her thoughts chased after one another, clouding her mind. All eyes were on her when a hand found hers. Reality snapped back to her like a rubber band and she looked up, exhaling as she recognised her eldest brother, guiding her up from her chair and out of the room.
"You're okay," he soothed as she fell against his chest, hugging him tightly around his middle. Her breathing was ragged, her body shaking.
"What am I going to do?" She looked up again, fear shadowing her dark eyes. "What are we... I don't... Aaron..."
"Take a breath," he instructed, guiding her in an inhale. "You've done everything you need. This is on the department now."
Abbie gulped, exhaling before her sights caught a detective passing the hallway that led to the interrogation room Marcus was still held in. "We're not letting him walk, are we?" she asked as the thought crossed her mind.
Aaron shook his head. "DA didn't ever approve a deal."
Frowning, she turned back to him. "I thought you said to Tran there was immunity."
He shook his head again. "Marcus wanted immunity, I said I'd see what was available," he reiterated. "We found his partner without him, so he isn't protected by anything. He technically didn't cooperate."
Her tension started to drop. "He can be tried again," she murmured.
"He'll be put away," he assured her, his hands on her shoulders, "along with his partner."
Abbie breathed in again. "What about any accessories?" Her thoughts were on Liz and Brian Gates, and whether they knew or not, and by extension, her.
"That's out of our hands, Abbie."
