A loud shriek left her mouth when she found a huge shadow looming over her. Soon, it started growling, and then, with the speed of light, it marched toward her. Andaleeb panicked and stumbled a few steps back finding it almost ready to attack her. Her hand slightly brushed against the doorknob of the room where she was made to stay the whole night. But she fell shorter than the pace of that horrendous creature which finally lunged at her.

She fell on the ground with a thud, the solid wooden floor making a sharp ache run down her spine and legs, but it was nothing compared to the horror of the scene in front of her. The dark silhouette completely shadowed her face and then she felt a rough and heavy touch over her neck. She clenched her teeth and tried to drag her body away from it but the stern grip of those powerful paws never let her do so. She sensed a sniffing sound near her arm, and her breaths ragged, understanding what was happening to her.

Above her was a dark black-colored, big, and bulky dog whose shining black eyes were attentive at her as though he wanted to devour her. Its face looked like a mixture of wolf and dog, which made Andaleeb confused, but the build was definitely of a dog. Its fur was touching her skin and it made her feel awful. From where did it come from? Will she die in the pawns of a dog?

"Help me!" She shouted at the top of her lungs.

Andaleeb closed her eyes tightly as she felt an awful smell near her as the dog tried to lick her arm with its tongue.

"Sikandar, be a good boy. Come here."

She heard a deep and husky voice and shot open her eyes. Suddenly, the pressure dissipated from her, and she again saw the light coming from the lantern on the roof, which had earlier been hidden by the big head of the dog. She breathed heavily at this. But within moments, dog attacked back at her.

"Sikandar!" The same voice again sounded and then a veiny and big hand came over the leash tied around the neck of the dog and pulled it away. "Behave."

Andaleeb remained quiet in her place when she saw a peculiar yet familiar-looking ring in that strong, manly hand. The ring had an intricate design of a lock inscribed over it.

Lock!

She had the keys and he had the locks?

Why did its golden design of small rectangles look like she had seen it before?

Her mind reverted back to a few months ago. Even though a lot of time had passed the memory was still very fresh in her mind.

"What's the guarantee that you will actually return my things to me?"

"I have yours and you can have mine. We can both return our things to each other once I leave."

"You can keep this till I return your phone."

"Why do you have so many women's things with you? Are you a womanizer by any chance?"

"I purchased them for my sister. It's her birthday next month when I'll return to Pakistan."
