Rody was the one to wake up first, his face buried in a warm stomach. He sat up and looked to find Vincent, still asleep. Rody yawned and rubbed his eyes to notice he was on Vincent's lounge. Sleeping on Vincent. Rody blushed slightly and stretched, getting up and realising he had work and to start work, he needed to wake up Vincent. Rody gently shook Vincent's shoulder who stirred a bit but didn't wake up. Rody's eyes then went to Vincent's soft looking, pink, slightly plump lips and he flushed slightly. He knew this was probably weird but he needed to know.
He had to.
Rody then slowly leaned in and gently kissed Vincent. The kiss was soft and smelt a bit bad because, morning breath but it was nice and felt nice. After a small few seconds, Rody pulled away and his face turned bright pink as he tried to collect himself and gently shook Vincent again. Vincent's eyes slowly opened and he sat up, waking himself up.
"Vince?"
"Yes Rody...?"
"Are you awake?"
"What do you think?"
"Well, yes but you're still waking up so your half awake."
Vincent sighed and then laughed quietly. Rody's face reddened the slightest bit as the familiar sound of Vincent's laugh filled the room.
"You're an idiot."
"I'll take that as a compliment."
Vincent laughed a bit more and stood up, walking to his kitchen with Rody following him. Vincent then got some things to prepare some breakfast, smiling softly as he did. Rody watched.
"Can I help?"
"Rody... We both know you'd burn the food before I would even light the stove."
"Heh..."
Rody laughed a bit, rubbing the back of his neck in slight guilt of this.
"It's not my fault I didn't inherit the cooking genes from my parents..."
"Yes, I know you didn't, Rody."
"H-HEY!"
Vincent bursted out in, not a hard laugh but a sweet laugh, and continued cooking, Rody watching like he was a puppy dog watching his owner preparing his dinner.
When Vincent finally finished and prepared a egg and bacon toast sandwich for Rody and a simple smoothie for himself, he handed Rody the plate who tasted it and smiled widely like a small child. He continued eating as Vincent drank his nutritious smoothie since he hated eating because, well, he couldn't taste.
"Is the food good?"
Vincent asked, smiling softly over at Rody who nodded and shoved more sandwich into his mouth.
"Mhm!"
Vincent laughed a bit and watched Rody eat with a sweet smile, something Rody has never seen from Vincent. I guess you learn something new every day.
"Thank god..."
Vincent mumbled slightly, laughing quietly. Then Vincent suddenly caught himself laughing and took another drink of his smoothie, embarrassed. Why was he laughing so much? It was just Rody and how Rody normally acted. It wasn't anything new. Yet, it was. In a sense. Like something awoken in Vincent.
His homosexuality? No, that awoken in middle school when that stupid kid touched his hand. His idiotic love for reddish brunettes? No, also awoke in middle school from the same stupid kid with his cute little glasses and his stupid smart brain. His dying love for green eyes? Also middle school when that same stupid kid made eye contact one time.
