~JANE~
12:03 AM, Manhattan, New York

Another morning of classes like any other, and therefore some still as boring as others. But during those hours, I spent my time looking out the windows, always in my thoughts, and always assaulting my poor head with questions: What is hiding in the streets of New York? Why are strange beings wandering around town? Where do these strange nightmares come from?

Yes, my second question may be surprising, because in fact, I have already seen beings (one more precisely) in town. I don't remember when, but I thought I saw some kind of giant plant with bulging eyes walking around town. I was able to hide myself but it was impressive to see this type of being. It was this event that reinforced my uncle's idea that there were other beings not entirely human in town. So that's why I'm asking myself so many questions...

Unfortunately, my inner questioning was stopped by the ringing, which annoyed me so I got up and headed towards the exit, joining the girls

I think I need to relax and think about something else...

                          ~***~

In the school hallways, I find myself standing near the lockers with April, Irma has gone to sort something out. We chat for a little while about anything and everything: gossip, family, love affairs, etc.

In short, a teenage discussion I want to say!

But despite that, it's stronger than me, and I throw a question to April, in relation to my questions 2 hours before!
Mission "Thinking of Other Things": Failed...

-"Hey Redhead, over the last few months, haven't you noticed any strange things in the cities?" I ask, turning towards her.

-"Strange things, from the mandiant who offered you a a bouquet of pasta the other time, I don't know what could be stranger, and funnier!" she mocks while answering me

No, it was just strange, but hey I admit it was a bit funny!

-"Haha, very funny, you should be a comedian one day!" I added, rolling my eyes, but smiling nonetheless. Which earns me another laugh from the redhead.

  - “But more seriously, when I say “strange things”, I’m talking about, I don’t know, giant plant men for example?” I continued, insisting slightly.

Nothing. Just a slight silence from her.

She probably thinks I'm crazy

  - "What do you mean by "plant man?" she finally said after her silence, but with a little hint of... uneasiness.

- “Well, beings who could be, well you know, like me.” I whisper to her so that no one could hear us?

Oh hey yes, April knows about my powers! Only since few weeks!..

From the look on her face, she must either be worried about my mental health or something else.

-"I...well, you must have had one of your bad dreams again, right? It's clearly impossible. Well, not really, since you, well, you see..." she tries to explain

-"Hey calm down, I'm not giving you an FBI interview, don't panic. It's no big deal, it's probably my strange side talking" I reassured her.

Yes Jane go ahead, tell her you've gone crazy

  - “You must have probably confused a strange tree for a beast. You know, “strange creatures” are probably rare to come across” she adds while being thoughtful

I didn't take the trouble to take into account her thoughtful, borderline stressed side that she gives off after my question. But hey, it’s probably me she’s worried about!

  - "Yeah. Well forget it, it's potentially my imagination" I said as the bell rang.

We head to our next class and discussing of a new topic.
But despite myself, I know it, I feel it: there are surely other people like me, or others in New York.

And tonight, I hope to find proof there...
