August 7 : Nayeollyn was born. In honor of my birthday, I offer you this special chapter called :

Once Upon a Wedding.

❕: This takes place before the main story, so you won't miss something if you don't read.

In a world where marriage is the most important moment in life. You promise to cherish your lover
for better or for worse, even when you've only
known the worst.

Rose's pov

I stood in front of the full-length mirror, breathless at my reflection. The white Vivienne Westwood dress hugged my figure perfectly, my Louboutin ribbon heels added a touch of french elegance that made me feel like a princess. My hair was styled in soft waves, a delicate veil cascading down my back. My make-up looked like it had been done by angels with diamond sparkles. I was blessed.

"You're absolutely beautiful, it hurts."

Naomi whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. I turned to see her standing there, her eyes glistening with tears. She was dressed in her bridesmaid gown, a soft blush pink that I personally chose.

"Don't be so nice or I'm gonna cry!"

I laughed, blinking rapidly to keep my own tears at bay. She stepped closer, taking the fan on the dressing table to dry my eyes. I didn't want to spoil my look. Emotions would have all the time to ruin me later — my future husband's hands too, for the moment I had to be perfect.

"It's just... I can't believe this day is finally here."

She said, her voice cracking. We both shared this magical moment, far from our little-girls' dreams of marriage and Prince Charming. We'd grown up, and one of us was living the other's dream.

She pulled me into a tight hug, her warmth and love wrapping around me like angels wings. She then slowly stepped back to adjust my veil.

Suddenly the door creaked open on William, my best friend, who unfortunately was Jaeyun's best man. His eyes widened when he saw me, and a broad smile spread across his face.

"Rose oh my—" He said, his voice filled with pride and admiration.

I looked at Naomi and William and felt so grateful. Their words and presence meant the world to me, and I was deeply lucky to have such incredible friends by my side on this special day.

"Lord, he'd better take care of you."

"'Cause you are the most incredible woman we know."
Finished Naomi.

I couldn't be humble at my own wedding so I revealed that Jaeyun was my Jake Gatsby and I was his Daisy. Including the moment, seven months earlier, when he gave me with a blank sheet of paper and the only instruction: Whatever you want you'll get, don't worry about the price.

I remained humble, but with him it was all or nothing. I didn't know what to expect and it was both stressful and exciting. The only detail I knew was the fact that his cousins were my other bridesmaids, even though those girls hated me.

"Has my dear daughter forgotten her mommy?"

Of course not. While I was gathering my bouquet of roses and peonies, my mother had finally arrived. She was the one who was going to walk me down the aisle, not my absent father - otherwise it would have been too easy. I'd choose her a billion times over anyway.
