Tonight I came home a little early from work. Clearly exhausted when I finally put my coat down and threw my six-inch heels on the cold floor, I let out a slight sigh. Routine was probably my worst enemy these days. Unconsciously it was depressing me and the only way to get better was to spend a good night with my dear husband: Sim Jaeyun.
At the thought of my lover I immediately imagined a surprise for him, his favorite dish and a sexy outfit. Nothing more, because what sane man could resist that? I quickly put on the red lingerie set Jaeyun had offered me on graduation day and pyjamas that he particularly hated. After that I was in the kitchen.
The squeal of tires and the purr of his sports car's engine soon made themselves heard in the driveway as I worked on the final preparations. I couldn't stop smiling, and even less when the door opened on my husband. Like a perfect wife I waited for his kiss but instead he ignored me and poured himself a glass of whiskey. A double one, meaning that at least two things had ruined his precious day.
"Good evening?"
"Evening darling." He answered, detailing my every move with his dark eyes through his messy hair.
Feeling frustrated, I simply served dinner while Jaeyun finished his glass. As I filled mine with French wine, he slowly placed a wet kiss on my neck. Then another one, quickly replaced by the cold metal of a shiny necklace. A slight shiver ran through me. All that attitude was to conceal a pleasant gift. I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Thank you." I kissed my husband's cheek when suddenly a feminine, fruity scent made me recoil.
He justified himself by saying his secretary has been very insistent. It's true that he'd already told me about this desperate, widowed woman who was helping him at work. I didn't suspect anything, because no one can accuse a good lawyer without proof; a basic fact. This was also one of our couple laws.
"A problem?" Jaeyun's gaze had changed, he was cautious but above all wary. His own voice betrayed him, that manipulative tone that only a man who has devoted his life to the law masters to perfection.
If my man was a good manipulator thanks to his work, so was I. That's why I decided to play dumb without knowing that my feelings for him were already taking precedence over my reason.
The rest of the dinner passed in silence. I wanted to ask what had ruined his day, but he continued to act cold. For fear of triggering one of his stupid male tantrums, I just smiled, thinking that I was — after all — lucky to be his Mrs. Sim.
"Rose?" I looked up and saw that he'd shortened the distance between us considerably. My eyes met his, fuck the dishes, I wanted him right away.
"Calm down, my lil' pandora's box. I just wanna watch TV."That was unusual. I laughed because he'd figured out what was hidden under my childish pyjamas but I was also quick to hide the remote control, curious to see his reaction. At first Jaeyun searched it absent-mindedly, then grew impatient like a puppy. I was cruel but he was even more when he kissed my neck to distract me and get his object of desire back. He turned on the TV and scrolled down to the news channel. Tonight's presenter was Park Roseanne. Once again she was talking about the attempted murder of Shin Yuna: Governor's Kim daughter. The culprit, her ex-lover, had finally been arrested after two intense weeks of police searching, and now it was a question of trial.
"Jae?" I tried to call him. His attention didn't wander from the screen, he just sighed and threw the remote into the sofa.
"Fuck it!" That was his honest reaction to the good news. I patted his shoulder and he suddenly seemed embarrassed to have reacted like that in front of me. He pushed my hand away, claiming he needed to take a shower before leaving me.
I assumed when I heard Roseanne's voice announce that the trial would start the following month that Jaeyun was probably on the case. But honestly I couldn't care less. The professional secrecy was my motto, the only thing holding back my curiosity.

Later I was lying on our bed, eagerly waiting for him as I felt more and more the need to touch and detail every aspect of the body that Sim Jaeyun had been blessed with. Our busy lives kept us apart, which explained why I was so excited every fucking night.
A sudden wave of heat hit me as he came out of the bathroom — having it in our bedroom was actually an architectural gift. Jaeyun was covered only by a white towel, contrasting with the raven black of his hair. Droplets of water beaded on his abs, highlighting his
waistline and all his muscles were tense due to, more thanks to, the ice-cold showers he was taking."What?" He asked me. I straightened on my elbows to admire him. His mind was now focused on his choice of nightwear. I coughed to get his attention.
"I know what you want darling."In less than a minute I was under him. The fabric of the towel rubbed against my thighs as I tried to remove it, he stopped me by biting my neck. I groaned before he started licking to ease the pain. That's how I understood that he wanted it simple today. Jaeyun's simple way consisted to let him dominate. Not too much but just enough for him to feel in control.
"Fuck... I love you." He whispered. My mind was already so overwhelmed that I didn't even realize when his hands ripped off my pyjamas.
"That thing was hideous. Don't ever try to hide again." I could feel his warm breath on my exposed chest. My carmine-red bra was the last barrier, which he soon kissed to tease me even more."Stop playing Sim." I moaned indecently to piss him off. He frowned and stopped his gentle torture, before I could speak he flipped me over with a swift movement. My head was buried in the pillow but I knew he was smirking. The night was just beginning for me.

Every time after we slept together Jaeyun would fall asleep like a baby. This time was no different, it was just me who wasn't tired. I'd been scrolling through my instagram feed for several minutes when the call screen suddenly appeared with the name: Kim William.
William was my assistant at work and also a close friend whom I often invited home. It was quite surprising to receive his call so late, but he was a hard worker, even at night and on holidays. I picked up the phone.
"Don't tell me you're still at the office." I asked him in a moralistic tone. I already knew the answer, but I wanted him to understand that it wasn't healthy for him. His silence and the characteristic noise of the printer confirmed my idea.
"Yes, but for a good reason." I rolled my eyes, according to him all reasons were good to work. "Better prepare, tomorrow we'll have a special guest." I hated William's threats, they were always silly and harmless, but for the first time it sounded bad.
I sighed and advised him to go home before hanging up. It wasn't long before I fell asleep next to my husband's reassuring presence, knowing that tomorrow would be tough. At this exact time, I had no idea what was coming next...
