Airplane - Magdalena Bay

I was thoroughly confused by the note.

Such elegant writing for such a small phrase. The signer only gave me a letter: L. I had no idea who "L" was, so it worried me a little on how they were able to get it in my locker, let alone say something so strange. "Welcome back"? What did that mean? I sighed once the warning bell rang and quickly ran to my class. I stuffed the note inside my binder and wanted to show Ana. Maybe she knew who wrote it. Once we reached our class together, I waited until we had free time to pull it out.

"Ana, look at this," I said while grabbing the note. I handed it to her, "Do you know anyone starting with the letter 'L'?"

When he grabbed the paper, her face drained, "W-Where did you get this?"

"I found it in my locker this morning," I said with hesitance. She was quiet. I didn't know what to do; I'd never had this happen to me before.

"Could I keep this?" she asked after a few moments. I nodded. I didn't want it, it gave me a very bad feeling. We didn't talk about it for the rest of the period, mostly due to me being in shock from the whole ordeal. Once we finished class, Ana and I went separate ways. I really didn't want her to leave, but I had no choice. Whatever that note was, it reminded me of the eyes staring at me the last few days. It had to have been connected. I tried to shake off the feeling, but was suddenly given it back tenfold when I reached my locker again. Those eyes stared into me as I grabbed my books. I knew it was the person who put the note there, but I was too afraid to look. I tried my best to avoid them as I continued on with my day. I couldn't let this person win, no matter how scared I was; I knew I was safe with Ana and Mr. Stathakis there. They both gave me a sense of comfort. By the time lunch rolled around, I was already at my limit of trying to avoid this presence that was surrounding me. It felt very heavy.

"I can't wait for this day to be over," I sighed as I sat down for lunch. Ana gave me a small smile.

"I understand, fílos mou," she said. "How is your nose?"

"Fine," I responded quickly. I forgot that it was covered with makeup from this morning. I didn't want her to know the truth; it would certainly freak her out.

"Well, you will certainly have a fine evening with me!" she stated with a smile. I smiled back slightly. I suddenly thought back to my dream with her and Mr. Stathakis. Why were they there? It seemed so real, but that would be insane if it was. They would have to be super old if that was the case. What was I thinking? The dreams weren't real. I shook my head at the thought and continued on eating. The note plagued my mind. It seemed daunting and foreshadowing to me. Something deep inside me was on high alert; as though I knew who wrote it and should be afraid. I decided to indulge my thoughts.

"Ana, do you know who wrote that note?" I asked suddenly. She suddenly choked on her food.

"P-Possibly," she stated while trying to catch her breath. "Some strange person has been following us and we had hoped to get rid of her by moving but she must have found us."

I stared at her blankly, "Why did she write that to me then?"

"I do not know, must be a scare tactic or something," she hurriedly said. "Do not be afraid, we are safe from them. Let us not worry any longer about that!"

I only gave her a suspicious look, "Whatever you say..."

"You should be worried about what you are going to do tonight!" Ana exclaimed happily. I groaned in response.

"What kind of torture do you have in mind?" I asked dryly

"Nothing too crazy," she said with a smirk, "Hopefully you like movies!"
