Gimme a Minute - PVRIS
Ana made some sort of Mediterranean type of breakfast which actually tasted pretty good. I'd never had a dish like that before, so it was intriguing to try something new for once.
"So," Ana began, "I heard you were having weird dreams?"
I shrugged, "Yeah, they started earlier this week." When I met you actually.
"What are they about?" she asked with a mischievous smile.
"They don't make sense, but some sort of council and stuff," I began. "Something about someone causing too much chaos."
"Interesting," she responded with surprise. "Anything else that happened?"
I held back for a moment, "My mother was there, but really young and appeared out of nowhere when I called her by this weird name."
"What's the name?" Nik asked as he entered the room.
"Started with a D," I said, not wanting to tell them the name. I knew what it was, but something told me to not say it out loud.
"Well," Ana started as she gave Nik a look, "That certainly sounds strange. I bet they are just silly things your mind is making up."
"I think so too," I said, though personally, I thought they were more than just dreams. They appeared too real to be so. I also was hesitant to mention that they were in them too. Before I knew it, it was already time to go home. Ana wanted me to stay, but I told her my mother would want me home to do some chores around the house. Ana was nice enough to give me a ride home, which I was thankful for her not forcing Mr. Stathakis to drive me this time. It was about a 10 minute drive until we reached our destination.
"Hey, Margaret," Ana said, which stopped me in my tracks, "If you continue having those weird dreams, let me or my brother know and we can help you out."
I paused before answering with, "I will."
She smiled and I shut the door. I walked into the house, knowing that my mother was there since it was Saturday. I entered the living room then the kitchen to find her at the dining table. She looked a bit distraught about something.
"Are you okay?" I asked. She jumped from my sudden question; she must have not heard me come in.
"Yes, when did you come in?" she asked, straightening up a bit.
"Just now," I responded. "Is everything okay?"
"It's fine," she responded curtly, "How was your friend's place?"
"Good, they made me a cake and I met Ana's roommates," I said with a smile. Mother gave me a smile back.
"I'm glad you had a good time with them," she said. I'd never seen her smile like that before. My thoughts drifted to the dream from last night. Should I ask? I shook my head at the thought. No reason to ask something ridiculous. Her phone went off and she looked at the caller only to scowl at it.
"I told you it's not happening," she started when answering the call then proceeded to hang up. I just stared at her in confusion.
"Who was that?" I asked.
"No one," she said angrily. Suddenly, there was a strange feeling of danger that passed through me. I quickly whipped around to see if there was anyone behind me, but there was no one. Then, a knock at the door happened. My senses were on high alert when this happened. My mother also appeared to be on edge. Something was at the door that wasn't supposed to be there. Everything was telling me not to go near it. Mother got up to go see who was there, but I immediately grabbed her arm.
