Abhimanyu stood outside Adhya's room, hesitating for just a moment before he raised his hand to knock on the door. This was the second time today that he was seeking her out, and that was unusual for him.
He was a man who valued his distance, preferring to keep interactions to a minimum. Yet, here he was, with a bundle of clothes in his arms, knocking on her door again.
When Adhya opened the door, her eyes widened in surprise.
"You, here again?Ap hamare kaksh main padhare, ham toh dhanya ho gaye," she exclaimed, her tone laced with dramatic flair
Abhimanyu's lips twitched, a ghost of a smile threatening to break through, but he quickly composed himself. As he looked at her, his breath caught for a moment. She was standing there, looking effortlessly beautiful with her hair tied in a loose bun, and a few strands cascading around her face.
The way the soft light framed her made her look almost ethereal. For a second, his carefully constructed walls faltered, and he felt an unfamiliar warmth spread through him. But he masked his emotions quickly.
Because he knew he could never act on these feelings. He was here in her life to ensure her safety, to guide her if needed, not to complicate
things with emotions that he couldn't afford to have.Clearing his throat, Abhimanyu held out the clothes to her. "Yeh avyansh ko de Dena"
"He seems more comfortable around you.so I thought you could give these to him."
Adhya took the clothes from him, her fingers brushing his hand lightly. She noticed the brief flicker of something in his eyes, an emotion she couldn't quite place, but it was gone as quickly as it appeared.
"I'll make sure he gets them," she replied, her tone gentler now, the playful edge gone. She could sense there was more behind his request than just the clothes, but she didn't press him. Instead, she stepped aside slightly, inviting him in with a tilt of her head.
"Would you like to come in?" she asked, her voice soft, almost tentative.
Abhimanyu hesitated, the temptation to spend a few more minutes in her presence battling with his instinct to keep hisdistance.
But the logical part of him won out, reminding him of the boundaries he needed to maintain.
"No, I have some things to take care of," he said, stepping back. "Just... make sure Avyansh is ok. Let me know if you need anything else."
Adhya nodded, not missing the slight reluctance in his voice. She watched him as he turned to leave, his broad shoulders tense, as if he was carrying the weight of the world on them. She wanted to reach out, to say something that might ease the tension she saw in him, but she held back. She knew better than to push him.
As Abhimanyu walked away, Adhya closed the door softly, her mind swirling with thoughts she couldn't quite grasp. There was
something different about him
today ,something that made her wonder what was going on behind those guarded eyes.Turning her attention back to the clothes in her hands, she sighed and made her way to Avyansh's room. She knocked gently on the door before pushing it open. Avyansh was sitting on the bed, his small frame almost lost in the large room.
"Hey there," Adhya said with a warm smile as she entered. "I brought you some clean clothes. Thought you might want to change into something more comfortable."
Avyansh looked up at her, his eyes still cautious but less fearful than before. He nodded slowly, reaching out to take the clothes from her.
"Thank you," he mumbled, his voice barely audible.Adhya smiled again, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
